Won't Please Everyone- but a good read
Overall, this is a pretty good book. Definitely good for some laughs and for making one aggravated at the hypocrisy of many of those profiled. Most Democrats and liberal leaning folks will find fault with Goldberg's choices for his list, but I think he reasons each one out fairly well. As he states in his prologue, any type of "list" is subjective and no one is ever going to agree 100% with the author's choices. No doubt, Goldberg leans right, but he is fairly middle of the road politically. Conservatives are not left unscathed and many of Goldberg's choices are people I don't necessarily associate with any political philosophy other than self aggrandizement and greed at others' expense. Overall a good book, an entertaining read which makes some good points- but don't expect to agree totally with the author regardless of your political persuasion.

Another favorite from Bernard Goldberg
Another favorite from Bernard Goldberg. I have read this one 3 times. It shows how really stupid some in D.C. are and dishonest as well. I have also given it as gifts and the receivers always thanked me after reading it. (One person in the book complained that storms weren't given African American names) Duh!

Political Incorrectness
This is my kind of book. A brief look at a few of the idiots that make life in the great USA burdensome. It will provide plenty of ammo for discussion with your liberal friends. You will need it because every time you provide them with the facts, if they are like my liberal friends, they will quickly change the point of reference and try to get you on something else, much like the person who finds Jesus and quickly becomes a religious know-it-all. Buy the book and savor the humor and insight. This is not what you would consider a scholarly work but it adds to the ongoing political discussion. Who knows, if you read it with an open mind, you may even become more conservative!

Spot on !
I appreciate Bernie Goldberg's writing style and his insight as to what elements are creating our Kafka-esque American experiences of late. Truly edifying reading.

Good Sardoinic Perspective
After hearing about the book on a conservative talk show, I decided to buy it. (Odd, it's been on the NY Times best seller list for many weeks and the tv talking heads have shunned it.)I enjoyed Bernie's sardonic wit and points of view. I can't disagree with any of his choices, although I would have added some others. What seems to be the comon theme is that these top 100 seem to have forgotten the core principles of what has made America great and or focused on what it should (and never can) be. Would you admonish your son after taking first place in a race that he didn't win by enough of a margin? So it seems to be with these critics of America. An easy and enjoyable read, I hope it isn't read only by his "choir." Perhaps some of those diversity proponents are open minded enough to understand it.
