The perch of the first birdhouse I received had a glaze glitch (third photo). I considered keeping it, as it didn't impair functionality. In fact, the very similar fly-through feeder I later found (second photo) has perches with unglazed edges that reportedly provide a rougher, and so more secure, surface for tiny clutching feet. But I didn't know that, and the flaw wasn't in a particularly useful spot. Besides, I like the idea of the perch being easy to keep clean. This bird house pleases the eye, with its natural looking color and graceful shape, and it pleases the hand, with its heft and hard glassy curves. It begged me to insist on top quality. So I sent it back. Both the original and replacement items came nestled in thick blocks of polystyrene made of two moulded sections, a front and back, inside a squarish, tightly fitted box. Though not eco-conscious, they were well protected on their journey. I think it would make a thoughtful, low key, gift and would arrive intact. If it never holds a bird's nest, it will still look good. It could also hold some types of plants. I considered red, but didn't want to advertise an eatery when I am actually running a hotel, so I went with blue. The replacement product I received was much darker than the defective one I returned, and both were more subdued than I expected. On the fly-through feeder, I DID order red, since I want to draw lots of hungry birds. But it's not truly red; it's the classic safe color for lipstick, nail polish, blush. I believe the fly-through feeder was from a different seller than this house. But the dimensions and design are so similar (and also the packaging) that other people might want to pair these too. If so, I would not get both pieces in the same color. Mix it up.

Very cute unique shape and the red color is just beautiful. I’ve found no defects in the quality of the ceramic. I did change the twine cord to a wire, as in my experience the twine can degrade over time and I don’t want to chance this falling out of the tree and breaking someday. There is no door or method to clean it out, but the opening should be big enough to be able to pull old bedding materials out at the end of a season.

The red bird hut looks stunning in my garden bed. I did not know what to expect when I ordered it, because you are looking at pictures, right? Oh boy, was I surprised. The construction, the material ( heavy) and the way in which you securely hang it is great. No assembly is required and it is very easy to keep clean. You are kost definitely getting a great value fir the money.

Beautiful color, design and craftsmanship.

Its beautiful and well made. I have many bird houses in our yard and this one was perfect. We are nature lovers and feed all the birds in our area. I also love the color!

The Kimdio Ceramic Birdhouse will be a beautiful addition to our garden. It's slightly larger & heavier than I expected, but that will give the wrens (or whoever else decides to use it) plenty of space & protection. It's sturdy, the color (deep blue) is very pretty & the finish is excellent. It should also be easy to clean out at the end of the season, b/c altho the stoppered hole at the bottom isn't big, you can easily access the nest from the front & bottom at the same time, which will facilitate cleaning. I like that the perch is ceramic (not a piece of wood that could snap off) & the built-in ceramic hanging loop feels solid. We'll replace the rope with a metal carabiner for long-term durability. We need to wait until the ground thaws so we can install a shepherd's crook to hang it from, but come spring, I expect this will provide someone with a very happy home!
