When I need to give the goats and sheep their bitter herbal dewormer, I easily mix in a little powdered molasses. Then the goats and sheep gooble it up.

I don't consume this myself, but my plants seem to love it, better roots. Best part is, I no longer have the mess from the liquid version, so much easier to use and measure.

I've been gardening for decades and now that we're older, I want to work smarter not harder.I've always gardened intensively in wide rows and now I'm using the square foot gardening method in tall raised beds and grow bags.Since our soil is nothing to brag about, we need to add organic matter and fertilizers to help it out.I only want organic supplements and fertilizers for my soil so I researched and found that this powdered molasses will be perfect.I have used this powder, in its dry form, to side dress my lettuce, radishes and other early plants this week. I mixed a bit in the soil next to my plants and they really seem to be taking off as a result.I'll also use this, as a liquid, to fertilize my greenhouse garden seedlings as soon as they get their first set of true leaves and before transplanting to my garden.Now, I always add manure and compost to my soil but adding compost and other organic matter to your garden doesn't help if your plant's roots can't absorb it.According to my research, powdered molasses helps increase the microbial life in my soil which unlocks those minerals and nutrients. This makes them more readily available to my roots and plants. I've got to say, my plants are loving it.You won't be disappointed with this powdered molasses. This is a very handy item to have for the garden. It's great for making compost tea or for top dressing plantings to provide a nice boost of microbial activity. It dissolves easily and is very simple to use. It also has a delightful aroma!I have been using powdered molasses for baking for some time and much prefer it over liquid molasses. It's much easier to use and there's no taste or texture difference compared with liquid. I contacted the manufacturer (ViviGrow) and asked if this is food grade and usable for baking. They confirmed it is food grade, and fine to use for baking (or any application that requires sugar or a sweetener). After confirming that it was OK to use, I've used this for cookies and breads with excellent results. I like that it comes in a plastic tub, rather than a pouch, so it can easily be scooped without any spillage.A good quality molasses that performs well in both the garden and the kitchen. It is a bit more expensive than other brands on a per ounce basis, but it's not terribly out of line. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.
