Think, Feel, Act Cards Hardcover – August 1, 2012

I am an Emotional Intelligence coach who works primarily with high school and college students to introduce the concepts of EI to the students and help them begin to build a foundation of EI as they prepare to enter college and the real world. I recently taught on EI elective at a local private college prep school, and one of the tools I used was the TFA cards. The students really appreciated how the TFA cards helped them dissect uncomfortable situations and to look at ways changing even just one thought, feeling or action could entirely change the outcome of the situation, resulting in a more desirable outcome and more positive and productive thoughts, feelings and/or actions. I recommend you have multiple sets of the cards, in fact, so more students can participate actively in the exercise rather than watching on as others work with the cards.

These cards offer simple, powerful questions to guide and help clarify where we are and where we hope to go. These work fabulously with all my clients (especially my teenage and kinesthetic clients), offering new ways of being as they explore possibilities. Stepping outside the comfort zone and recognizing dissonance or resonance with certain cards builds self-awareness. It also helps develops flexibility of mindset as we substitute new, unfamiliar options of thinking, feeling and acting.This is an engaging tool for both me and my clients; I find myself pulling out these cards when I'm unsure of what I feel or what possible outcomes I might have an effect on. These cards are practical and can also take the emotive power out of situations by laying the cards out in the open and offering more options for action!

This is a fantastic and easy to use card set. I used it straight out of the box when it arrived.As a coach, facilitator and behavioural/career consultant, I use card sets to create awareness and gain clarity for my clients. The TFA cards are very easy to deploy, and simple to understand. Clients don't feel too intimidated with the approach. Through a conversation using the cards, clients get to see the dynamism and inter-connectivity between their thoughts, feelings and actions, and they begin to see multiple perspectives of situations and people.Can't wait to try out the other card set from Six Seconds!

I've started using these cards with my family and my clients and they are excellent tools for starting a dialog about emotional issues. On a personal level, they've really helped my fiancée and I revisit some hard conversations and talk our way through different options for next time around. On a professional level, they have provided me with a straightforward and immediately accessible way to engage a client in clearly identifying the relationships between thoughts, feelings and actions. Highly recommended!

This cards are an excellent tool for training people on emotional intelligence. There are multiple applications. They help walk people through their patterns (their typical way of responding to a given situation) and the end results vs. alternative responses that lead to better, more desired outcomes.

Very useful cards for any trainers or coaches to use to help participants think about how our thoughts, feelings and actions are linked. There are many different ideas for using the cards to develop reflection or discussion in training sessions! Wonderful!

A useful tool for self-awareness, understanding conflict, and developing action plans. The cards are also helpful for 7-12th grade teachers who integrate EQ/SEL into their classroom practices.
