Marukura Rice Koji Amazake (Non-Alcohol Fermented Rice Drink), 8.81 oz

The taste was a bit of a let down for me, but maybe it is just this one bag. My usual amazake brand had become too expensive to afford, so I thought I would try this one as a replacement, since the company is very good and one that I trust. To me at least, there was an odd taste at first with every sip then it eventually fades away as you swallow. It's hard to describe. Hopefully, that taste is limited to only this first bag, as I intend to try the others that I bought soon. This amazake was a bit thinner than other brands that I've tried, but I kind of like that now.Perfect healthful drink for relaxing at the end of a difficult and stressful day, especially now that it is cold out.

The item was $4.90 and the shipping was $7.56. It was expensive but I was pleasantly surprised the item was still cold when I opened the box. The seller carefully insulated the delivery box to keep the item cool.I made my protein shake by blending 50g of this amazake with 100ml of water, 20g of dark chocolate whey protein powder, 1/3 cup of blueberries and 200ml of soy milk. It was delicious. I also made Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake) with two tablespoons of this stuff, 1 egg, oatmeal (1/4 cup of oatmeal plus 1/2 cup of water, cook for one and a half minutes), cabbage and ginger. I coated the pancake with organic okonomiyaki sauce and sprinkled bonito fish flakes. It was yummy. This rice koji amazake is great alternative for traditional ingredients I want to get rid of in my diet.

Drinking this with warm water less than 60 degree (not hot) and little bit of ginger. Very healthy naturally sweet drink.
