Subtle, sweet, slightly smokey flavor. Definitely a good purchase for adding into chilis, stews, or Latin American dishes. Not spicy in my opinion, but still flavorful and fresh.

Love the depth and flavor this adds when used in cooking. I use it along with Guajillo and "red" chili powder and it just adds a wonderful complexity to anything that calls for chili powder - chili, carne asada, etc. this is great quality; I don't go through it quickly so I swapped the remainder to a glass jar I could vacuum seal closed to hold in the freshness. This adds great flavor without a lot of heat.

Great tast with mild smoky favor and not to hot with a medium ground that has a good texture.

This is good stuff and was much better priced than my local grocery store. I hate the "chile powder" that comes premixed. I make my own seasoning mixes and Ancho chiles are the best for most Mexican or Texmex dishes that require chiles. I prefer to use powdered as it tends to make the spice flavor more consistent in the dishes, and it is a pain making it from scratch. I definitely recommend this.
