Music teacher opinion
Controllered exhale through apature and relaxed at low notes gets notes more in tune. Some notes are off tune but again controlled and relaxed using fingerling chart. Vibrato through steady pulsing from diaphragmatic breathing will do this. Tone is mellow and there are notes that truly stick out but again a controlled way of playing will work. This is not for blasting. You would need another design and bigger bore. The high notes does not require over blowing. It is achieved through controlled overtone blowing. You may have to reposition you embouchure depending on mouth and teeth shape.I have to re-adjust my thought to get finger sequencing correct but that is minor.Overall look is superb. There is a pipe rod to push through a small cloth for cleaning. Also grease for joint connections.Excellent! This is a little above a student model. This would definitely require you to be more pitch contious but that's great for students who need that training.Washing under a faucet without worrying about the wood is great because it's all plastic.Curved opening at mouth piece makes this more mellow sounding. Similar to Yamaha brand. Now, if your instrument is cold you'll go flat. Hot will make it sharp. Expansion of wood due to it being wet you don't have to worry.Nicely built over all.

Bullshit
It sucks when you try to hit the high C and B Flat

meh
While this is pretty to look at, it's not a great instrument. According to my tuner, the "F" is significantly out of tune, and though I can play the soprano recorder easily and am an oboist, keeping the octaves from shifting randomly on this thing is nigh-on impossible. After six months playing this off and on, I've still never coaxed a high A or B from it. I'll stick with yamaha from now on--very reliable instruments.

Nice looking flute
Pricing was okay. Nice looking flute. Well made and sturdy. Nice tone. Takes a little practice for breath control. Kind of limited on types of tunes you can play ( limited notes ).

I was surprised
I am a beginner on recorder, but a musician of many many years (organ/piano). I have a couple of wooden alto recorders, a Hohner I bought in 1968 and a Johannes Adler I bought for $5.00 some years ago at an antique store. I hardly ever played either, but have become obsessed now with teaching myself alto recorder. I was actually afraid of over-using my wooden recorders and having the wood crack. Frankly, I purchased the Woodnote wood grain alto as a "beater." It arrived very quickly, and I was pleasantly surprised by the tone of it. Even as a beginner, I have no trouble reaching the high A. I am very pleased with the instrument.
