Just got a 338 lapau will this work

I have one mounted on a Savage 10 FCP .338. I mostly fire 285gr Factory Ammo. Absolutely no issue with zero drift or other recoil problems. The only issue I have had was the mount screws loosening. Blue Loctite took care of that. I would recommend that the scope be aligned and lapped to the rings for best results. Depending on your eyes you will have no problem using this scope at 1000 meters. I have taken shots at over 1500 meters and had decent results. I had a Weaver Extreme 8.5 to 36 scope on the rifle at first and switched to this one because of the clarity of the glass.

Is this scope clear enough to see a target at 1000 yards clearly?

If I were going to b shooting at 1000 yards regularly I would spend another $1000 or so so. To answer your question yes you can see at 1000. I haven't shoot my that far but I shoot 600 yards a lot. This is a very clear scope for the $ but there are better out there u just have to fork out the cash.

As a Vortex fan (I now own 6 of the Viper line) you will fine the clarity and quality to be the same from one Viper to another. The primary difference is the objective lens size (44-50mm) and the reticle style. All Vortex Viper scopes will be equal to or better than other brands costing several hundreds more. I currently use the HS-T with a Mill-dot-bar reticle on my Precision Rifle competition firearm shooting 600-1250 yards. Where the Viper shines is target acquisition in low light conditions (target shaded). I choose to use the Viper line because they track distance changes very predictably and I find my target quickly. Im getting the us tactical 30mm rings. what height should i get for a savage 338 lapua ba 110? 1.500? or 1.250?

I just read through their product descriptions for the scope rings. The .1500 equates itself to an Extra High Ring and the .1270 says Hi Ring, and the .94 says medium. Given the model you are using, the guys on the Tactical counter, who sell and mount all our scopes, say the medium is the way to go. We sell that firearm and those scopes and the rings we use are "Medium" rings.
