Great resource for self-reflection and self-growth.
I read this throughout the summer and it opened me up to a world of self-compassion and acceptance that I didn't know I was capable of. 6 months later, I still take many of the concepts I learned in this book with me everyday.

A treasure trove of wisdom and helpful ideas
This is a book brimming with wisdom and really useful perspectives on how to understand and move towards self-acceptance and true happiness. I think the editor Tami Simon has done a brilliant job of bringing together a truly distinguished group of thinkers and healers to help us on the lifelong journey. I love the blend of practical advice and metaphysical framings. Thank you to Sounds True for this wonderful publication, which I will be reading and re-reading for a very long time.

Useful and interesting
Essays from different experts. Gave me food for thought. Less keen when they talk about 'vibrations', good otherwise.

Life changing
Life changing. Perspective from different professionals on how to deal with the inner critic gives a variety of tools and methods, but also points to further reading if necessary.

Lot of great teachers, but too many ideas in one book.
This book is a roundup of numerous exercises and philosophies on self acceptance. Each author presents a different philosophy and method (and in some case, multiple methods) for gaining self acceptance.Benefits: Perfect if you're looking for a wide sampling of possible approaches to consider.Drawbacks: Because it's a compilation of writings by different authors, the book doesn't flow particularly well, and (in my opinion) there is too much information to easily distill and apply to ones life. The book requires you to choose the method(s) that most appeal to you, rather than making it easy and providing recommendations on the method(s) that will most likely work best for you, given your personal history or experience.
