Reusable Easy to Clean
This filter media is pretty Hardy. I've been able to use it to catch all the big gunk from my huge goldfish pond and it actually works very very well. I like the fact that I can wash it out and reuse it. It does not catch little particles. It does catch very large clumps. It also works well layering which is really nice cuz I've got soft media on top which is pretty much useless.I also use this to let the water run through it before it runs through my chemical Medias. I have a few filters on each pond and tank so I'm able to set each one up different which works out really nice. I do recommend this stuff. It's kind of like the back of one of those green and yellow kitchen sponges that you would get. The green scrubby part but a lot thicker. I do recommend it and I will keep purchasing yet. Being able to rent it and reuse it is a big big benefit and you don't have to squeeze it or anything just take a hose and spray all the garbage out of it. It's a very simple.

easy to use, should last a long time.
this is a rigid filter media, very easy to handle, cut and rinse. I am using it (cut in to 24") pieces in my biofilter barrels on my 3000 gallon koi pond. this traps particles and muck which facilitates clear water. I also use biological microbes and bio balls. This filter product is superior to the blue one I have previously ordered from a different vendor. That product only lasted me 5 months, I anticipate this one will outlast that. I just installed it one week ago, and will update my review in the future. Very good price, Shipped fast. Simply and adequately packaged. You could also cut this down to use on aquariums and save a lot of money over the little premade filter pads.

Thick enough to catch garbage thin enough to clean efficiently.
We used thicker mesh before but it just clogs and gets caught in the motor. This mesh is thin enough to still allow the flow of water but catches dirt and grime really well. Easy to clean and lasts quite a while.

Cleaned pond algae
Works great. Easy to cut and fit filter. My fish "pond" is only 60 gallons, but it was green and mucky from intense heat wave. This material, with a little barley extract cleaned the pond in about a week. I did have to spray the filter material every two days to remove the trapped algae, but I was amazed at how well it worked.

Good filtration media
This is a good medium-fine filter media. I am using it in a home made filter in an ice cream bucket inside a 5 gallon pail. I have a skimmer that has one layer of green Matela filter media as a prefilter, then a 900 GPM pump, a UV light, and finally my ice cream bucket/5gallon pail. I cut disks or circles out of the material with a scissors. I have 5 layers of this filter media and I probably clean it every other week during the summer months. At that point, each disk probably has about a pound of gunk trapped in it - I just spray them with a garden hose and they are clean. It looks like the media will easily last all year if not longer. I highly recommend this filter media.

Works well for outdoor pond filter
This was just what I needed. I have an old style filter that is cylindrical in shape, with holes and I need media 12" wide and over 26 inch long to wrap around it. I bought the original filter holder from Lily Pons originally and the filter wrap that came with it had a strip of hook and loop material along the short edge to hold it in place. Now I just tie the media to cylinder. I have a 750 gallon outdoor pond. I will probably buy this media again when my backup media is no longer useful.

Good buy
This was a great option for my two turtle tanks. The filtration has done will in filtering debris ans keeping the water clean. This roll allowed me to make filters for two canister filters.

Probably fine for a smaller pond
I cut up and used this filter last summer and found a sturdier one this year that works much better for my 1000 gallon koi pond. While this one did work, I soon had to wash it everyday, and the more I washed it the whimper it got. That’s why I tried a heavier filter that works much better for my pond this year!
