Fairly quick acting, great price, happy.
Brilliant, took about 30 to 40 mins to work for me but definitely made a difference as I suffer a little acid occasionally depending on what I eat. Easy to take, not massive and do the job very well. I was impressed. Great price for a calmer belly.

Good for planning ahead, bad for sudden flare ups
These tablets can be an absolute life saver for some - the active drug, Omeprazole is what’s called a proton pump inhibitor, science jargon aside it basically stops your stomach from producing as much stomach acid - therefore reducing symptoms. This is great if you suffer heartburn at night for instance, one before bed can prevent annoying and uncomfortable wake ups.But they DO NOT provide immediate relief, they’re slower than other remedies. They take a few hours to kick in and the kicker - you’re supposed to avoid other heartburn medications (such as Rennie or Gaviscon) for 2 hours before and after these, as they stop the medication from working properly in the stomach. So the speed that these kick in can be an issue and whether they are appropriate for you depends on how you experience heartburn. So if your heartburn comes on quick or is just after meals etc, you’d be better with Gaviscon Advance or a Rennie (or similar) Those work by neutralising the excess acid and offer immediate relief. Gaviscon also creates a layer in the stomach preventing acid from leaking. But if you’re someone who knows they’ll have heartburn after a meal or a drink or suffer with nighttime heartburn, these are the tablets for you. These allow you to “plan ahead” and prevent heartburn, and they offer 12-24 hours of relief. They’re pink tablets in a foil strip, they’re about the size of a Tic-Tac but flatter, they have no taste and are easy to swallow. You take one tablet per day. They’re good quality, just as good as what you get on prescription and this brings me to my most important points. We all get heartburn from time to time, from drinking too much (alcohol irritates the lining of the stomach) or spicy foods etc - but it’s important not to ignore it, keep an eye on it. If you continue to get heartburn seemingly for no reason, or it becomes a daily thing - you may need to see a GP (the most common cause is a stomach ulcer or a type of bacteria in the stomach that irritates it)Always listen to your body if it gives you warnings. In terms of value for money - they’re expensive for what you get, but worth it if, like with my father, you want a drink but don’t want a horrible night sleep due to heartburn. They’re an occasional drug and should only be taken daily on the advice of a doctor, who will give you the slow release version at a strength that is appropriate to your condition. You may find some side effects with these, the most common being an diarrhoea, wind or bloating - if you have these then you should try and see a GP, as Omeprazole is only one of many different proton pump inhibitors available and it could be that Lansoprazole or any of the other “azole’s” is the right one for you.So, if you suffer occasional heartburn and you know you can plan ahead - taking one of these before going out for a meal/drink or before bed can completely stop heartburn symptoms. But if you suffer daily, or suddenly, or find you have side effects - see a GP and try Gaviscon Advance or Rennie (Rennie Deflatline are the best as the chemical reaction in the stomach that neutralises acid creates gas, and they help ease that gas and avoid bloating.Heartburn can be an annoyance, and so long as its occasional these may well be a must have for your medicine cabinet - but take note of your symptoms and don’t ignore them or feel afraid to contact a GP, these are just one drug in an arsenal of ways to control heartburn, but most important is understanding WHY you experience it.Good luck in finding relief - whether these are for you or not!
