MEECO'S RED DEVIL 580 Silica Sand - Red - 6 lbs - Fireplace Accessory - 1 Pack - Unisex-Adults

My gas fireplace was so loud I stopped using it years ago. A friend told me to replace the sand with Meeco’s and amazingly enough it worked! I don’t hear the loud gas sound at all. Just the sound of flickering flames. I could have spent big bucks replacing all the hardware when all I needed to do was replace the sand with fine silicone sand. Very very happy with this product!

This is not as shown. I ordered this toMatch white logs and be a fairly clean white as the picture shows. But it is really just a beige brown beach sand that has not been well filtered; it has numerous dark particles and inconsistencies.

I was a little skeptical because of the reviews. I did not want to purchase sand that was wasted all through the box. To my surprise it was in great shape and none of the product was wasted. It was only sealed by a twisty tie. I'm concerned as to why they haven't invested in a plastic sealing machine. I found alll the sand on the internet to be overpriced, so that was my main complaint. It served the purpose of being a barrier for my fireglass in the fireplace.

I was sceptical about that because of all the reviews regarding the package and the amount I even thought to order 2 boxes because some said that one box is not enough for the fireplace but it was more than enough

Product is great but as others have commented, packaging is a joke. They shouldn’t be selling this type of product online if they can’t manage to use decent packaging. As you can see in the picture, it’s a thin plastic bag secured with a twist tie. Of course that’s going to leak. A ziploc bag would have been a huge improvement. Sand was everywhere.
