i put one by my sink and one in the shower, sink one is fine but shower one got moldy. they're good brushes but they need to be kept somewhere dry when not in use.

I'm a hobbyist worm farmer, and my hands get filthy from messing around in the bins a few times a week. I wanted a brush to help get all the yuck from under my nails and caked all around my fingers, but also wanted something more sustainable than the plastic brushes I see all over Amazon. I have had my nail brushes for about half a year now, and honestly they are holding up a lot better than I had anticipated. The bristles are tough and actually do work off the considerable amount of filth my hands accrue from playing with the worms. Haven't had a single issue with mold or anything of the sort. They do feel rather rough, but honestly they probably wouldn't work nearly as well if they weren't... So I consider that a feature rather than a fault. The bristles are still in great condition and so I'll probably still get a lot more use out of them, but I will definitely be buying these again when it comes time to replace them!

I don't know why these stunk so bad and I am disgusted how it took me days to find out. Every time I'd walk into my bathroom, it smelt like bad body odor or a dirty wet rag that had been sitting around forever. I do not have BO, nor is my bathroom dirty. I finally found the culprit - the nail brush. They both stunk!! I have them soaking in vinegar, and soap. For now, it seems to have worked. Will update, if not.Anyway, wash first!

Great value for a pack of two. I love that these are bamboo and not plastic. I do a lot of baking and these were great for keeping my hands clean and they are also great for my kids who are always playing outside and getting dirty. The two pack is perfect because I can keep one next to the kitchen sink and one in the kids bathroom.

I had these for a week before the holes where the bristles are attached turned dark grey and moldy. In order for this to be avoided, you’re going to need to blow dry them after every use. These are not worth $2. They are completely black and brown now where the bristles attach. I missed my return window.

It's hard to find all natural brushes- these are bamboo handle with sisal bristles (and 100% biodegradable/recyclable.) The bristles are stiff enough to get under your nails, but not so hard they hurt.As for that "black" stain- wood discolors when it gets wet! Ever seen driftwood on a beach? Same thing here (it's NOT MOLD !! ) If it bothers you that much, try coating the handle with mineral oil before you use it (there are many videos online on how to correctly care for natural brushes.) Please stop giving this bad reviews because you don't know how to take care of it properly.

Right before I wrote this review I checked to see if others had remarked about the smell as well and indeed, it seems to be an issue.I ordered these for my wife and myself. Upon opening the package I was taken aback by the pungent onion smell - the brushes smell like French onion soup and made the entire shower smell the same way when they got wet. It’s been a couple weeks and the smell hasn’t gotten any better. My wife soaked hers in a bowl of dawn dishwashing liquid and it’s dissipated just a little.On the plus side, the brush looks nice, it works well, and the bristles are soft and manage to clean the nails nicely.Three stars for the smell. Yes, it’s that bad.
