Downlight Cut-Out Repair Liner x2, 70mm Nominal, Protect-Repair-Reduce-Fill

This product works well. Neatened and secured the edge of the hole in the ceiling, which had started to crumble. In future any more ceilings which we change to recess lights I would use this product at the beginning.

These are expensive but worth it. I have lathe and plaster ceilings and the light fitting when removed say for decorating always causes damage which is difficult to repair. These rings are great as they prevent any further damage - easy to install too.

Didn't really work

Plaster board holes were too large and the lights kept hanging out. Fitted these with adhesive- took 36 hours to dry- then a bit of filler. My lights were too big to fit so I cut a small section out and they were still rock solid

Most downlights are +70 mm, this is only 67.5 mm. Caused major problems as standard IKEA are 72mm. Had to rip them all out again.

As described and a reasonable price.

These things are quality. I used some PVA on the edge of the plaster board and then used coving adhesive to glue into place before finishing with filler. The hole is now solid as a rock. The absolute dogs bollucks for this particular problem. That hole in the photo still needs a coupla licks of paints though eh, calm yerselves…

A nice idea, but I struggled to get them to stay put, so possibly my own error. Ended up using a different solution.
