Amazing Cinematic Quality!!!
This lens is AMAZING if you are looking for an old school Anamorphic Cinematic look for your films and photos. INCREDIBLE! (just know that if you are using a full frame camera you will have to set your camera to a crop mode or there will be heavy black vignetting around your image) 10/10!!!

Very nice lens, can film 8K on Z Cam S6
OK had to try this one. There's a lot of info online, and I don't have much to add except that it's decently sharp, that was a question mark looking at samples. Unpacked the Sirui 35/1.8 this morning. After a half day of testing, it looks like a no brainer, especially if you own the Z Cam S6. Sharpness is perfectly fine, as is color and contrast. Maybe there is a touch of added color so be careful with the WB. Distortion is as expected, mostly correctable with the built in PP plugin. Or just leave it. Clickless, smooth aperture. There is some color fringing with backlit subjects. I filmed the tests on the S6 in "open gate" to make full use of the 6K+ S35+ sensor. I was able to view the footy on my monitor desqueezed and also in the app. I dropped the footy into PP into a standard 8K sequence. Yes, 8k from 6K open gate. Setting the image size to 93 percent, the image just touches the edges while leaving two narrow letterbox strips. Fine--you can add thicker black bars or zoom up to 102 percent to get 8K with no bars. It's all good. You can downsample, crop, whatever you want. Lots of choices. My copy was shipped direct from the factory and I waited more than a month for it. Glass was perfect, exterior had a tiny scuff mark, no biggie. You can manual focus very well at F1.8 and then I like to stop it down to F4, but it is certainly usuable wide open. Clickless aperture and focus is very smooth and there are two rings included for gearing. No hood, which is cheesy for an $800 lens IMHO. :( @theusualeditor re: thin air pixels--this lens allows me to film open gate on my Z Cam S6, so I'm not losing or cropping any pixels except some in the horizontal which unsqueezes a tiny bit wide. And, here, I'm not losing but cropping oversize. Ordinarily, a lot of these pixels would be unused, just like on most 4:3 or whatever cameras. So this lens get every drop of pixel juice out of the slightly oversized sensor. So because of the open gate, it's like the extra resolution you get when you used film back in the olden days. And, in H265 I'm getting manageable file sizes. But, beyond that, it looks cracking when you drop it into an 8K timeline. (Yes, there are blue flares easy peasy.) P.S. It isn't light.

You won't be disappointed
I absolutely love this lens. It feels solid and has a bit of weight to it but not too much weight. The image I get from it is crisp, the bokeh is nice. Some reviews say the bokeh is a little less round than they'd like on the 35mm but in my opinion it looks great.

Perfect lens to add to your film gear!
I LOVE this lens. The 35mm is the perfect length. It truly has a Cinema look to it. Nothing cheap about this lens at all. Well worth the price, which is not bad at all for the value it brings to your work. I will say that this lens is a bit on the heavy side but with the right camera setup you'll be fine.

Excellent Picture and Service
Overall it's a great lens. Excellent picture quality. As mentioned by others, the lens doesn't fit full frame cameras, which is unfortunate since I have a Sony A7C. But... it still looks great with minimal to zero vignetting when I crop in 1.4x with Clear Image Zoom. The rear lens cap didn't fit the E Mount (since I had to add the adapter once I received the lens), but I asked about it, and they were happy to send one out. Super happy with the purchase so far.

Great lens but with limitations for full-frame cameras
I really wanted to like this lens. It's very solid and beautifully made. I've been shooting video with an Iphone and a Moondog anamorphic lens for two years now and have grown so accustomed to framing subjects in widescreen that when I purchased a Sony A7SIII I had high hopes that I could do the same thing with Sirui's lens. Unfortunately, due to it being an ASPC lens, the results weren't what I had hoped. I was able to shoot 4K footage by cropping the lens to 1.5 using the camera's clear zoom function, but besides losing a substantial portion of the image, I still experienced some slight vignetting on the left side of the frame (and strangely, the image also 'skewed' when I tilted the camera left or right). Unfortunately, along with continually having to manually focus the lens, I finally decided the two issues were a deal-breaker for me and I sadly returned it to Sirui. I don't know if they read these reviews but if so, I would pay double what this lens cost if Sirui could ever create an anamorphic lens for full-frame cameras. For those of you who have cameras that shoot only with ASPC lenses, you can get some beautiful footage with this lens. It's definitely worth what it costs and I recommend it if, as long as you don't mind a manual focus lens.

This is a review of the 35mm. I tried the 50mm first but found it too tight for my kind of pictures. (The flares seemed slightly stronger on the 50mm.) I use it on a Lumix S5D. It can be used for video and stills, but it took a while for me to get the right camera settings. I really love the look of this lens and the immersive, wide FOV. The build quality is amazing! Maybe the F stop ring is a bit stiff. Its heavy, but you can forgive that. This lens will make you rethink everything...! I keep wanting to go out and use it. If you love the immersive look of anamorphics, this is an affordable starting place...

Excellent lens, just wish their shipping department was on top of things as I originally got the wrong lens.... but I returned the wrong one and finally got mine, which I couldn't be happier with... If you want anamorphic lenses that work with mirrorless cameras this is an excellent option (and with a beautiful blue lens flare)

This lens is a complete game changer. It’s solidly built, incredibly sharp and the image rendition is superb. The Bokeh and flaring look really nice and it’s hard to believe you can now get an anamorphic lens and not pay £££££!
