Incredible results within days!
My dog had been suffering from black crusty growths and feathers around the nose for six months. It started with just one growth and gradually worsened. The growths would eventually drop off and be replaced by new growths. Two months ago, I took my dog to the vet with a sample of growth that had dropped off. the vet said that she did not know what it was but that she could put the sample under the microscope. Total cost £61. The verdict was that there was nothing bacterial or fungal in the growths. Her only suggestion was to take a biopsy whilst my dog was under anesthesia which would cost several hundred pounds. I decided to surf the net and try and solve the problem myself before resorting to the vet’s suggestion. The growths were not causing my dog any discomfort and there were no other symptoms but they were worsening and looked unsightly. I first tried a homeopathic remedy for warts in case the problem was viral. This did not work, then in desperation, after further surfing on the net, I came across snout soother. I did not think that the problem could be dryness as the growths were at the edges of the nose, and surely the vet would have considered this possibility? However it was worth a try. I am on Day 6 and the problem has virtually gone. There was an improvement in 24 hours. It really is quite incredible. The product is lovely to apply. I just rub my ring finger gently in a circle in the product to warm it up and soften before applying. My dog doesnt like it being applied but I give her a treat immediately afterwards to stop her licking it off. One reviewer suggested that vaseline would work just as well. Maybe it would, but I doubt it .... this is a quality product with natural ingredients with a lighter texture and lovely gentle smell. I wish I had taken photos. Needless to say, I am changing my vet.

A quick fix before a vet trip
There is a herby like scent to this but our dog happily will let you put it on his nose. To reduce him licking it off before bed we pop a bit on the top of his paw (the fur) and he licks that instead of his nose. He gets excited now every night to have it applied. It took about a week with applications of three times a day to see the best improvement. We now apply just at night before bed. If we stop using the problem comes back within a day or two so it looks like it would be a on going treatment option if you didn’t explore the cause more with the vet like we are planning to do.We tried this option after the vet suggested coconut oil or Vaseline. While this did help this balm has been much better for our dog.As you see by the photos his nose was sore and splits. And the second photo is his nose with improvement. This hasn’t solved his issue but made him more comfortable until we find the cause. We have used a good amount of this but mainly due to adding more on so it sinks into his skin in case of him licking it off. There is a travel version that could be used as a trial in case you aren’t sure if it will treat the issue. But if Vaseline has some improvement then I believe this will also be beneficial.I’ve given 4 stars as for us it’s an on going daily treatment where as we would like the issue resolved if possible. The product itself has worked well.

Excellent
My dog was born without tear ducts so cannot keep her snout wet. Her snout was so dry it started to disintegrate and the vet suggested a snout balm.I wish I had taken before and after photos because it looks like she's grown a new snout! I still have to apply it twice a day as she'll never have a wet snout, but it looks (and hopefully feels) a million times better.I applied it really generously at first and then had to keep my finger in the path of her tongue for about 5 minutes so the balm can be absorbed. At first it was three times a day and now it is twice. Dry pieces of her snout fell off in the first couple of days making way for a brand new snout. She really doesn't like the balm and tries to lick it as soon as I apply it. The balm is wonderful for dogs that struggle with dry noses and I will be buying again.

Amazing-cleared my dogs nose in less than 3 days!!
Not sure about the flavour, but this stuff is amazing!! My British bulldog has had the dry crusty growth like skin on his nose for as long as I could remember. I thought it was from the heat of the house in winter-then from rutting in the garden... maybe it’s just what they get. I tried a few products (sudocream/Vaseline) but nothing did any good.I applied this cream the morning it arrived and said to myself I should take a before pic to see if there’s any improvement.... I forgot and when I went to reapply more cream later in the day. Almost half of the dry skin had gone!!! I could no longer take a before pic as the skin was significantly improved. Fast forward 3 days and he has no growth on his nose!!! It really is amazing. I’m delighted to see him with a nice moist nose for the first time in years!! Well worth investing in. I’ve also used the same cream on dry skin on my arms and feet-it’s all natural and smells good. This cream will def be used one was or another.

Best treatment for my dog's crusty nose
I’m not sure why I’m asked to rate ‘flavour’ as I haven’t tasted it! My dog has occasionally licked her nose after application though, and hasn’t complained. I can say this is the only ‘snout balm’ that actually works on my ancient French bulldog. She has had a very crusty nose in her later years and although Snout Soother is the most expensive product we’ve tried it is certainly easiest to apply, adheres well, and any built up ‘crusts’ usually soften and lift and can be carefully wiped off after about a week of daily application, revealing a “new nose”. I’ve now bought the biggest tin available and will use several times a week so the crusts don’t have chance to re-form. I recommend this product.
