These take less than 10 minutes to install and seem to work fine on my '05 C240. These do not come with instructions, but installation videos are not hard to find. You may need someone or something sturdy to support the hood while you do the work. Use a flat screwdriver to pry out on the retaining clip at the end of the strut (you don't have to remove it) and then you can pop the end of the strut off the mounting ball. Do that on both ends of the strut. When installing the replacement strut there is no need to pry out on the clip. It will pop onto the ball easily.I purchased the version with the 2 plastic shells for a couple dollars more. I believe that was a good choice because I don't think the strut with the red push button (driver's side strut on my vehicle) would have worked with the original Mecedes shell. In the photo, the original Mercedes strut is on the left and the new strut is on the right.

Perfect fit. These bonnet lifts fit perfectly on my 2003 C240. This is easier with two people as the hood is a bit heavy, especially since the previous bonnet lifts were shot.Tips.1. Be sure not to throw away the previous lift jacket. You will need to slide the new ones inside of it.2. You will need a flat head screw driver or something similar to pop the clips up. There's one on each end.3. Make sure to put the lift with the red button on the drivers side or the same side the original came off of. It allows for the service mode (lifts the hood straight up).Great replacement part. Great value for the money especially considering the mechanic was charging $250.

reduced by one ⭐️ rating because product shipped with one of the four retaining clips missing. had to reuse the four original clips. the lengths of the plastic covers had to be cut down to fit into the original Stabilus shells/sleeves. struts can easily lift the heavy clk500 hood and can be extended further to service position.

I got it for my 2007 Benz C280. It fitted perfectly; but keep in mind that you would need original plastic tubes from your car to insert into them these parts. The whole process takes 5 minutes. Figured it out without watching any videos.

These are replacements for the OEM hood struts on my C230 Mercedes and was very easy changing them out. The red button position (used for servicing) does not lift the hood quite as close to vertical as the originals did but is not a problem.They are well made and should last a long time. For me the clincher is the price, the pair cost about half the OEM pair and are working great.A nice alternative

Perfect fit, came with all the clips and sleeves. FAR cheaper than the dealer wanted for the exact item.You won’t regret buying.On the downside, I paid for the fastest shipping, and delivery was delayed twice. And Amazon didn’t refund the shipping fee.

It doesn’t fit the oem red push to extend button, nor does it come with one. For the time being it’s in and works just like any other car, although no more cool mercedes party trick of the 90 degree open hood. Not the end of the world for this price.
