Q: Are the M-Steel good for metal music?

Yes, they have a Cobalt wrap, which many metal players like for a big sound.

Q: Will these m-steel strings work on a Floyd rose Im scare to cut the bal end off

I know I'm really late to this party but I've been helped out many times by other musicians and I try to do the same when I can. I acquired the Dean Michael Angelo Batio MAB4 with a Floyd a few years ago, great affordable guitar btw. I thread the string through the tuner and cut the other end leaving 1.5"-2" at the bridge end, clamp it, and wind it up to pitch. I've had a few breaks and it's usually right there at the bridge so just unwind a bit, reclamp, retune then play some more.

Q: How would these be for blues/rock? They'd be put on a Strat with LS Hot Golds thru low watt tube cranked to OD naturally. All I see is metal players.

This string hybrid is ok for that the best string for that is the Ernie ball purple power slinky
