Split Ends: Sometimes the End is Really the Beginning

What a letdown book from an otherwise amazing writer!
This author is one I’ve read (and loved) quite a few books from, but I was disappointed by this book. The editing was TERRIBLE, from incomplete sentences, to chopped mismatched phrases and missing punctuation... it was sometimes difficult to know who was speaking or when something was just a typo. Also the storyline was predictable and the characters were frankly just not enjoyable. Please don’t base your feelings on this author on this book!! Read A Billion Reasons Why or The Scent Of Rain or any of her other works to fully enjoy her potential.

Fun, Light, Humorous & Flirty Christian Chick-lit
If your looking for a fun, light, humorous, flirty book in Christian chick-lit you've found it! I really enjoyed this read. It was cute, quirky, fun and gave me some good chuckles! Just what I was in the mood for. Sarah Claire is a character that you will see come to life and one you will be cheering for as you see her struggle to stay true to her Christian beliefs, find herself in her new job and maybe see her dreams come true! There are times you will want to shake her for her wishy washy ways of seeing herself. At times she wants to be more than she has been told she is; she wants to believe there is good and wonderful things for her. Then again, she will get down on herself and believe she is a "have-not" and that she is undeserving of the chance she has before her. Amidst her struggles and hilarious circumstances you will find an encouraging and hope filled story. Wonderful characters and some nice & clean but sizzling romance top it all off to be a delightful, light read that will leave you smiling.4 1/2 Stars

Unoriginal, unedited
Kristin Billerbeck is a talented chick-lit writer whose other books (especially the Ashley Stockingdale series) are just plain ol' fun, engaging reads. I'm a huge fan. That said, I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in a book than I was in Split Ends. The characters were flat and stereotypical. The main character kind of wanders all over the place, through the plot and in her head. Those huge flaws plus the HUGELY obvious grammar/spelling mistakes made me wonder if her publisher even attempted an edit at this book.Or it could be that, like so many other writers in the Christian fiction genre, Kristin has stretched herself too thin, making herself incapable of creating anything other than a mediocre product.I do not recommend this title. Other up-and-comers in this area are writing much better books. Erynn Mangum's Miss Match, Tamara Leigh's Stealing Adda, Lisa Samson, and others are much more worth reading.

Great fun read
It was interesting to read the other reviews, so I thought I would add my two cents. I ordered several "Christian Chick Lit" books to take to the beach, mostly from authors I had read before. I got Siri Mitchell's Moon Over Toyko, Norah's Ark, a couple from Debbie Macomber, etc... This was my favorite, and the most fun to read. I felt like Sarah's hesitance to enter in a realtionship was realistic (compared to Mitchell's heroine and to Norah, both of who drove me nuts), and the descriptions of Hollywood life are fun. This is certainly not rocket science, it is chick lit, but very enjoyable.

Didn't enjoy it.
Lots of typos and wrong word useage.

Overall I like Kristin Billerbeck as an author
Overall I like Kristin Billerbeck as an author, and there were funny moments throughout but the book had several abrupt transitions and the end felt kind of rushed.

Entertaining
This was a fun read but not what I really expected. I felt like it was tied up a little too tidily in a rather quick moment. Nice insight into behind the scenes Hollywood (and why I don't ever want to live there). I liked the characters and would read a second installment about them.

What happened to a book with an ending...
I read this book because it was recommend to my by a good friend. It was a fun read and I understood the ending but I thought, it could have been filled a little better. No hint of what the character would do with the rest of their lives.
