Tastes good. Really sweet

I grew up using this as a shortcut way of seasoning meat when time is of the essence, so my review holds bias as would anything that's been an integral part of your pantry for decades. But there's a reason it's been a staple of mine for ages. It works well with just about any type of meat you can throw at it, though it does have distinct limits on the type of dish it will complement. As long as you know which dishes it pairs with and which it doesn't, you'll be happy adding it to your pantry as well.The taste notes are sweet, then tangy then savory. So if you have a dish that won't taste good with a bit of sweetness, do NOT use this sauce. A good reference point would be that any dish that can take tomatoes or ketchup, will benefit from this sauce. This sauce is ideal for pretty much every meat based stew common in West Indian cooking. But you're not going to pour it over grilled sirloin like A1 steak sauce and be happy with the result, I can assure you. It's not meant for that.I use it in brown stews of every variety, pepper steak, pumpkin soup, pepperpot soup, beef stew, baked chicken, Mongolian beef, meatloaf (turkey and beef) hamburgers (turkey, beef, or chicken), meatballs, grilled chicken dishes (like jerk or BBQ), Grilled fruit and vegetables (like pineapple, peppers, corn, onions), Taiwanese fried rice and pasta sauces. If you cook a lot of any of those things, this sauce is for you.Important to note is that this sauce is meant to complement other seasonings, not be a stand alone sauce. It wasn't made for that. It's a fantastic bridge to harmonize other flavors or simply be in the background. So you'll still need your garlic, onions, peppers etc. You might think "well why would I need to buy this sauce if I still have to get all the regular seasoning", and I have no answer to that except to say, when you use it, you'll know why. I can no longer make brown stew snapper or brown stew chicken without this sauce. I am not happy with either of those dishes without this in the background, especially when I make either prior to serving. Some dishes taste 10 times better the next day. Brown stew is one of them. Cooking and refrigerating overnight melds the flavors with the meat. If leaving overnight isn't an option, this sauce is essential to my brown stew. It's my shortcut.A definite recommend, and at under $2 a bottle on Amazon Fresh, a good bargain too.

First tried this sauce in Jamaica. It's slightly sweet with just a touch of "burn." Very good on all meats and fish.

The price is too high,I buy this for $1.69
