Great Day Truck N' Buddy Folding Tailgate Step/Seat Platform for Work Flatbed Trucks and Equipment Trailers - 300 lbs Weight Capacity - Black Powder-Coated Finish, TNB2000B

i bought this product hoping that it would make it easier to get into the bed of my truck. it works great.installation only took me @ 20 minutes. the unit is sturdy and made of lightweight aluminum. it has rubber coated steel cables. it sits flat against the tailgate - the handrail doesn't fold down but doesn't obstruct closing of the tailgate. it stows away quickly and is secured with a small bungee cable.the only downside - 1/2 point drop - is that you need to get a piece of rubber or some kind of sound deadening material to stick in between the folded sections to keep a very slight rattling down.one more thing to add - i replaced the steel screws, nuts, bolts and washers with stainless steel ones to keep from rusting.i give the truck - n - buddy 4.5 stars. excellent product i highly recommend

It was an easy install. I did substitute the same size hardware with stainless steel hardware from the orange big box store. I didn't realize this prior to installing, but you can install the handle on either side of the step. This step saved me from buying a new Raptor with the integrated tailgate step. Ha.

I cant express the value of this product enough. I recently had to purchase an F250 4x4 truck for our Bait and Tackle store. We wholesale live bait out of my truck, I am a 5ft 4 female and this step is amazing. I get in and out of my truck probably 25 times a day and could not do that with a bucket full of fish every time with out this product. Everyone that see my step wants to try it out, We live on a lake so the fishermen are impressed with the step. Amazon has the best price for it with free shipping, so I tell them to go to Amazon. People much taller or bigger than me have used this step and is impressed. I would recommend this product to anyone, tall, short, light, heavy... (((Anyone))) who has to get into the bed of a pick up. The greatest thing about this step is that I am always pulling trailers and I can still use the step with any trailer that is connected.

I will add a review when it is installed, but I'm already unhappy. All the nuts and bolts were rolling around loose in the box. The box was tapped securely so none were lost in shipping; HOWEVER, there was ONE LOCK NUT MISSING. I will have to go buy one before I can install the step on my tailgate. I temporarily gave it a 3 star rating.

This is a nice sturdy step but mounted way too high on my tailgate. I don't have a lift kit or oversized tires. My truck is an HD 2500 Dodge RAM 4x4 but it is stock. The single step still would require me to have an additional step for the wife and me to get onto the tailgate using this Truck Buddy. I am not about to drill mounting holes in my new truck for a step that doesn't suit our needs.How about adding another lower step to this for those of us with taller trucks?I like the design and think it would work but for almost 300 bucks I want something that doesn't require me to still carry another step. I am returning the Truck Buddy unused.

My mother in-law and I bought it for my husband for his B-day. He loves it. It makes it so much easier him. It's a great product for those who have trouble getting into the back of the truck. Thank you so much.

The Truck N Buddy (T-N-B) step makes getting in & out of the truck bed a whole lot more pleasant.My pickup is a late model two wheel drive,but it sits very high and I am a big guy. The T-N-B works perfectly for me. I am an aircraft, air frame metal mechanic by trade and I appreciate a quality,well made product. The T-N-B passes this test well enough to suit me. I would however like to see the hardware replaced with stainless steel,rather than the mid-grade fastners that it was built with and the mounting hardware supplied. Those are changed out easily enough. When in the stowed position it does rattle a little and I quieted mine a lot by putting self adhesive felt pads like you would put on the bottom of a vase, where metal touched metal. One other thing one should be aware of is that the T-N-B sits about 1 3/4" or so above the top of your tail gate. It does not look that bad but might be a problem if you want to put a tonneau cover or cap on your truck. All and all, I am really happy with it and the ease it provides in getting in & out of my truck bed. Very handy.

I put this on the F250 today. replaced the hardware with stainless.Referring to the picture at Point A I took the cable and moved it to between the frame and the bottom stabilizing angel. I also reversed the hardware here to make the bolt stick out toward the outside of the frame instead of inside where I will be stepping up and down. The bolts here were so tight that the cable connectionswould not move freely. At point B this rubs against the inside of the stabilizing angle. It was that way before I changed the bolts around and I could not get it to straighten up. At point C I used stainless self drilling sheet metal screws. I used ten which is how many came with the step. There are more holes to use and I will fill them up when I get some more screws. probably not necessary but it will look better. Of course it is much easier for me to climb into the bed now. My 71 year old 215 lb body doesn't have to strain near as much and there is no slipping and sliding to get in/out of the truck bed. I like the item and would have given it 5 stars if the frame were lined up better.But that's not a deal killer for me.Update 4/10/2019 I've had this item for almost four years. I couldn't get in and out of my F-250 safely without it. I weigh 265 lbs and have no problem climbing in and out of my truck bed with it. It's a well made rugged product and I highly recommend it.
