Q: How well can you tie knots with the 80lb? Is the 80lb real stiff? I need flexibility to use glide baits and topwater walk the dog baits for musky!

This line is as limber as it is going to get but you're still talking g about 80 pound test. I use a Palomar knot with the 80 pound test on live bait hooks for tuna fishing an does not seem to have any adverse affect on bait performance. Anything above 80 pound test, I use crimps. You could been consider crimps with the 80 pound test if you need to maintain a loop without a large knot for better lure performance. Good luck!

This line is extremely transparent, but not invisible. I can see the heavier line in the water more than the lighter so I would assume the fish can see it too. Another thing to consider is the flexibility of the line and how it effects your bait presentation.

It will hold the knot but you would be better off with a metal leader imo.

I fish for salmon off Vancouver Island west side. I started using this leader a couple years ago and I do believe it has contributed to more caught fish. It has a small diameter and is invisible in water. I use 40# test leader because salmon sometimes tear less test leader off. I use 25# main line and it seems to be a good combination for me. As far as the .91 diameter, I can't say because I have never measured it but the diameter is less than regular mono of the same test. I just use it for leader though, not main line. The leader is used behind a flasher at 42 inches long.
