Quick Review Cards for Medical Laboratory Science: 9780803629561: Medicine & Health Science Books @ desertcart.com Review: AWESOME REVIEW CARDS - I love these cards!! They have really great info in bite-sized pieces. This is, as others have said, more like a mini textbook than flashcards. But for me, that was what I needed to review info I had forgotten. The paper is not cardstock or thick, but I think higher quality than standard printer paper. It will do just fine if you are careful not to rip cards off the ring, and keep them in a bag or box to protect them. I really did not want to go through laminating them, as others have suggested, as there are more than 500 cards. So I got some 1.5 inch book rings (1 inch probably would have been sufficient) and 4x6 index card boxes, and I am very happy with this. Having them all on one ring is very difficult to handle and flip cards, so I split each section on to its own small ring and keep them in two of these index card boxes, so I can just pull out which section I need to review. I think there were nine sections, plus a small intro/table of contents at the beginning. I find the cards much easier to flip and less bulky/awkward to handle when on their own smaller ring. Great book! I used: https://www.desertcart.com/1InTheOffice-Index-Holder-Assorted-Colors/dp/B07G4KTSXX https://www.desertcart.com/warmecho-1-5Inch-Binder-Nickel-Keychain/dp/B07G9CY72H I also tried this bigger index card box, but couldn't easily close the lid with the rings adding height to the cards. Also was less portable/backpack friendly, but would work if not using a ring: https://www.desertcart.com/your-orders/pop/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_pop?_encoding=UTF8&gen=canonical&lineItemId=lglhsqipmoqtony&orderId=112-7001948-8702655&packageId=1&returnSummaryId=&returnUnitIndices=&shipmentId=D7vwYfGb3 Review: Excellent study aid for ASCP exam; highly, HIGHLY recommend (I’d say it’s actually a must-have). - I relied on this HEAVY to study for the ASCP MLT exam along with Patsy Jarreau’s Bottom Line Approach. Scored high. It is A LOT of paper-thin, flimsy “cards”, but I divided them all up by subjects and then again by sub-topics using binder rings, paper clips, and rubberbands, and carried them in a gallon-sized ziplock bag. You can tell this came with me everywhere, everyday, for 3 straight months. Not the prettiest way to carry them, but for the information it contains and the convenience of reviewing them quickly - worth it. I would buy again if I ever misplace these.

Very handy reviewer
Good for reviews or just to learn new lessons on the daily. If you're trying to take ascp or amt and in a hussle this would help too. Would fit in your backpack or medium sized bags for school.

Not flash cards
For some reason I was thinking that these cards would be like flash cards, but they are not. They are pretty much an entire book, just on tiny cards (front and back of each) instead of longer pages. That being said, I do think these will be useful still in studying for the MLS exam. They contain a ton of information, and no questions. At this point I feel that they may contain a little too much information, but I do like being able to take out a section at a time to carry in my purse to review throughout the day when I may have a few minutes to spare. And yes, as others have noted these are very thin and will likely wear apart quickly.

informative
These were informative. The only downside is that I wish they were thicker. They began to rip after a lot of use

Great study aid
These cards were recommended to me by my colleagues and sure enough they were right. Theyre concise and help you remember the essentials. I only used these to study and I passed.

Great Studying Aid!
I bought the Kindle version. I was able to view cards from my phone and computer using the Kindle App. These cards are very good reference cards for working as a MLS and for passing boards! Highly recommend as an aid. Cards are very organize and it is easy to look up information.

Perfect for BOC Review
These cards perfectly summarize all of my courses and need-to-know info for my BOC

It includes a metal ring that can be used to hold them all together. The cards are made of paper, not laminated, what I did was put reinforcements on them so that the holes on the cards don't get torn. Having it laminated would be a nice extra feature, but that could make the price more expensive. I also put tabs on them so that there is a clear division between topics and will be easier to study. I divided them by department: Laboratory Operations Clinical Chemistry Clinical Microbiology Hematology Immunology Immunohematology Urinalysis & Body fluids Molecular Diagnostics Management & Education It's not a typical flash card where there are questions at the front and answers at the back, they are simply review cards where a detailed summary of a certain topic is written on one side and then another topic or a continuation of the same topic on the other side. They are nice for studying and reviewing, but it will be better if you utilize other resources, I also have the Medical Laboratory Science Review by Robert Harr and I use that if I want to practice answering questions. The card contents are concised but still contain important points that you'll need to know for the exam, so it still helps. The cards make it easy to study on the go if you're that type who can study anywhere at any given time.

Great summaries of the important concepts. Comes with a ring to put the cards together: semi-thick paper, so don't be super rough. Would be nicer if it was coloured by subjects of something for us visual learners, and if the cover, back, and each section were laminated or something (I guess it would be more expensive though, so maybe not - good call!)
