After 2+ months of daily use this Handsome and SOLID Butane Lighter still ROCKS!
Anyone who says this lighter feels cheap is flat out lying. And that some folks who have never used a proper refillable butane lighter are frightened by the whiff of butane is sheer Idiocy. Otherwise, the wheel ignites in only ONE direction and the flint it comes with is hard on the thumb but put in another flint and All is Good:-) I have used it a dozen or so times every day for almost three months - it ALWAYS LIGHTS THE FIRST TIME - and I've only had to refill the butane ONCE. But gas flows when the lid is open, so if you are gonna fool with it to hear the "Dink" your mileage will deservedly vary. (BTW, I almost NEVER give Five Stars but so far this excellent lighter has earned it. I will edit this review if it fails me in the future.)

Great look but...
It has cool smooth enamel and attractive gold tone a look that I would be proud to show off when lighting a date's medicine, It has heft. It was made with precision. The flint wheel easy sturdy action. The flint and filler screws had tight little fold up handles. Looked like, felt like an inexpensive rival to a Dunhill. Except it doesn't work! After I filled it and tried to light it I didn't hear any gas escaping from the tiny hole. In fact when I opened the flint screw a burst of gas escaped. When I was young "made in Japan" meant cheaply made. Today we have China.

Dependable and Elegant
I was looking for a side strike lighter that wasn't cheaply made with a price hike, came across this and pulled the trigger. That was a good decision! This lighter is well made and has been through a few refills now and still no issues whatsoever. It's hefty in the hand, not too large or too small, the corners aren't sharp, and the toolless design for adjusting the flame is a cut above the rest. It works well for cigars and pipes alike. I only use Colibri butane after having issues with other brands of butane and other lighters, so refilling is super quick and easy. The black and gold is a nice contrast. I had no idea it's a loolalike to a $300 lighter!

Mini tutorial on lighting this lighter because the manual is not clear
It's a great lighter that has a very satisfying clink sound when you open it! Easy to use and feels good in the hand. The only downside is that it took me a while to figure out how to get the lighter to light. First fill the lighter with butane I pressing you all the way down on to the butane nozzle. Your lighter should feel colder the more you put butane in. I would hold it down for around 20 to 30 seconds. Then close the butane nozzle and open the lighter. This is where it gets a little tricky. The little cover with the plus and minus sign controls the size of the flame. If you try to light it and the flame won't appear, turn the cover towards the minus sign. Yes you heard me, towards the minus sign. Usually with lighters, if you want a bigger flame, you would turn it towards the plus sign. But not this one. Gradually turn the cover towards the minus sign and keep on trying to light it. At a certain point, you should be able to light it. Then control the flame to your desired size and leave it there. That's how you do it!!

*update* Awesome "knock off" for the price!
Update: 8/5/23 - replaced the flint once. Almost made a full year without issues until it started leaking :( Using it for a few days now and so far it has been great. Nice hefty quality and even mimicks the DuPont "clang" when you open it. At first I thought the flame adjuster was inconsistent then I realized that the flame gets real big when the fuel is just about to run out. Also, only use premium butane with the plastic nozzle. The metals ones don't fit properly. Shipping took a few weeks but I'm satisfied with the lighter. Will prob pick up a few more as backups.

DANGEROUS
This lighter looks beautiful and feels decent in the hand. Added some butane and was excited to spark it up. I had to try sparking it about 15 times just to get it sparking at all...but the flame wouldn't light. Finally after a few dozen tries, it lit alright, with a huge fireball that burned the hair off both of my hands. Wish I was kidding, but I'm not. This lighter is extremely dangerous.
