Pathetic fit & finish!
Awful fit & finish!!! When I received the hitch I was expecting the actual hitch to not fit based on another review, so I checked and sure enough the cheap welded square tubing they chose had so much weld slag I had to use a mill bastard to shave down the inside of the tube.Further, the heat-affected zone for the welds warped the tube out of square on the bottom. Finally, the paint was already flaking off the hitch before I even took it out of the box, once it was bolted to the Gator the paint was coming off in huge flakes. It would appear this wasn't even cleaned/degreased or sandblasted before painting. There is no primer AT ALL, just a dirty weldment painted with JD Green paint. The quality stopped at the design work... If you buy this product you'll have to treat it like you're buying some Harbor Freight Chinese junk, meaning you know you're getting some half-a$$ crap that you're going to have to modify to get to work. If you don't mind the product rusting overnight and filing the receiver tube for an hour I guess it's a good buy. The design itself is great and has already helped skidding logs around, but what pathetic fit & finish.Come on America, you can do better than this!

Garbage, do not buy.
Like many of the previous reviews:* The mounting holes did not line up - seller's solution was to provide nuts and bolts - the bolts were smaller than the holes which allow for the receiver to be mounted with the miss aligned holes - the bolts were light duty & metric - because the bolts were too small and low quality, one of them broke during mounting - had to go buy grade 8 bolts that were smaller than the holes to get the darn thing mounted and be safe to pull a load.* The back plate of the hitch was too tall - I have the oem plastic shield on the back and to get the receiver plate to fit flush with the metal on the gator, I had to cut the plastic up about a 1/4 inch - looks like manure.* The receiver tube it too large so the hitch wobbles up and down and your trailer tongue will bounce around and go thunk on every bump.* Not impressed with the welds either - I could have done a much better job and I have minimal welding experience.* Because of all the fitment issues I am assuming this was sub-contracted out and manufactured in a metric based country and they just didn't get the conversions to sae standards correct.* Looks pretty fresh out of the box - but that's not what you are buying it for.* If it didn't take so long to arrive and if I didn't need to have it when I ordered it, I would have absolutely returned it to Amazon.* * Spend a little more on a quality product from a different vendor.

It fits perfectly
I have Sears Riding Lawnmower, which I wanted a hitch to be able to connect my cart and other items. After many hours searching for something that would meet my needs, I found Rear Trailer Hitch Receiver John Deere Gator 4x2 6x4 Old Style Bolt On Green. The shipping was fast, and when I mounted it to my riding Tractor mower, it worked out perfectly the way I was hoping it would. Now I can even move my boats around as well as my cart.

Do not waste you time with this item. They have a flawed manufacturing process.
This is a nice looking, heavy duty hitch receiver. It will bolt right up to the older model Gaters. I was impressed when I took it out of the box. Then I discovered that the receiver tube was bent. It had a crease all the way down the tube and none of my 2" hitch attachments would slide into it. I took it to my machine shop to see if it could be fixed and they refused to work on it. They said it would require to much work to fix it and it would weaken the receiver. Also a liability issue. They recommend that I send it back. Amazon was great about replacing it and shipped me another one at no cost. Received it in 3 days. To my disbelief when I opened the box the new was the same way...unusable. appears to be manufactured with the same piece of bad tubing. I am very disappointed with this manufacture. Where is their quality control. All that would be needed before these were shipped from "China" would be to stick a piece of 2" tubing into the receiver to see if it would fit.

One Star
The tube has bad welding finish inside therefore nothing will fit in it correctly. Really bad finish. I also tried to grind the bad weld off and as it turns out it isn't even square so virtually nothing will fit. I did get an off road hitch to fit into the first hole but it will not go in all the way this is because the off road hitch is of lower quality and smaller. The normal standard well made Kurt types will not even go in a quarter of an inch. I did wait for two months before fitting this I wish I had tried to fit it right away as I would have sent this back.

Fits a 6x4 perfectly!
Perfect fit for a 2003 John Deere 6x4 Gator. No reaming was necessary as all of the bolt holes lined up perfectly. The included hardware is beefy, and the incorporation of lock nuts is great! A Reese hitch fits perfectly in the tube, so I'm guessing the manufacturer has resolved the issues that were listed by customers from years past. This has provided a great addition to my gator and I expect to get many years of use out of it!

Great Product
It fit perfectly, the company even provided the bolts, washers and nut. I installed it in less than ten minutes.

Perfect
Perfect! It was exactly what I needed for my new (very used) Gator Easy to install, hitch and bolts/nuts are heavy duty and will certainly last longer than the Gator. If you are certain your model can support this type of installation, this is a must have!
