Spigen Rugged Armor Designed for iPhone SE Case (2016) - Black

My entire family now owns iphones and with several teens in the mix I want to make sure that the phones are protected and there are no unexpected expenses due to a phone being broken. Enter the Spigen case! Currently all 5 iphones in our home are in Spigen cases and I can rest assured that they are completely protected. The case attaches quickly and securely to your iphone with no difficult pieces to maneuver. The raised edge ensures that the screen and camera lens are safe from breakage or scratches and the additional interior bumpers protect the phone from being dropped unexpectedly. Unlike many protective cases, this case has a nice slim fit and does not add any unneeded bulk to the phone, allowing it to still slip easily into a pocket. The case has a very nice feel to it and sits nicely in your hand without feeling loose or slippery. This Spigen phone case has protected my phone from a toddlers tantrum, being dropped by the preschoolers, many drops while out playing Pokemon go and more. Slip this case on to your iphone and know that you are stylishly protected from almost anything that comes your way!

Very stylish case with a clean carbon fiber look. I'm a big fan of cars so when I saw this I was interested in the carbon fiber detail but was weary that it might appear cheap or gaudy. It does not and even has a decent 3D effect to the "weave". I have a carbon fiber hood and have also used quality carbon fiber vinyl, I will admit the appearance is much closer to that of vinyl, but looks great either way. As far as the fit and function, it fits the phone tightly and feels secure, the bottom lip above the charge port does not peel back or have slack like many phone cases do, it has a very nice uniform fit. The bottom allows ALL ports/speaker to be exposed with a bit of space, so it shouldn't limit the type of aux or charge cable you use or degrade sound quality. Overall I'm very pleased with this case, I may upgrade eventually to something more protective, but if so I would stick with Spigen after this experience.The one small downfall I've found with this is if you're the type to hold your phone with your pinky on the bottom supporting the weight of the phone, this case has somewhat of a hard/rigid feel on the bottom with the port openings, so it can be a bit uncomfortable on your pinky after prolonged use. It sort of digs into your skin and isn't as soft as some might prefer. No biggy for me but worth mentioning.

I love this Armor. it's the best I've tried so far in terms of slimness, toughness & durability. My only concern is the Kickstand; the angle seems a bit off for me. I have to always find a high point to match my eye level because it has a very straight angle.When I put the phone on my desk, I cannot watch any video with a clear angle. I think it should be tilted upwards a little bit.overall it's a great product.

This is a nice case. The material isn't grippy like silicone, the grip is provided by the squared edges. Slides easily out of a pocket. The fit is about perfect. The bottom cutouts are large so plenty of clearance for aftermarket charging cords and earbud plugs. Because of the squared edges it's not as comfortable to hold as round edge cases but it just feels more secure in hand. It's a thin case but designed such that the camera and screen are recessed enough that they are protected from contact when the phone is placed either face or back down on a surface. I have one of the thicker tempered glass screen protectors on my SE and the case edge is just a hair higher than the protector. I wouldn't expect a whole lot of protection from damage if dropped so I would probably only consider this if you want a thin case to provide scratch protection and a pretty good grip in the hand and maybe just a little bit of impact protection. There are much better cases for drop protection if that's what you want. One final point ... the case fits just fine with a glass screen protector.

The case is well made and looks great and simplistic. The back doesn't show grip and has this rubber/plastic touch that feels great. The carbon fiber, (which I'm not a huge fan of in general) was tastefully done here, and doesn't make it the main focus of the case. The button covers for the power button and the volume switches are tactile, and the ports for the silencer, charging, speakers, and headphone jack are not covered. One note, the cut out for the headphone jack is kind of small. You won't have a problem with the earpods you get for with your iPhone, but cables for an aux cord probably won't fit. I was concerned about how much bulk it adds to the phone, and it was a lot thinner than my expectations. Spigen makes great cases (had one for my Nexus 5) and I'm glad I picked this up for my iPhone SE. Oh yeah, the case does have a lip around the front of the phone so when you put it down on a table, the glass won't get scratched up. Good stuff. 10/10.

The edges are sharp, which makes holding the phone uncomfortable. I used an 8,000-grit polishing eraser on all the problematic edges. Now, I'm able to comfortably use my phone for phone calls. If you're not able to put in the time to polish, look elsewhere. I can't comment on its durability since it was recently purchased.

You should never drop any Cell phone of course but you might occasionally bump or knock it and this case will surely provide an extra layer of protection. In the worse case you do drop it well having it in one of these really thin and well designed cases will give you the best chance of protection. If none of those happens to you well the case is in my opinion one of easiest to hold and handle. I buy this case at the same time as buying a new phone and considering the small cost in relation to the phone its one of the best investments you will probably ever make!
