Several wood pieces arrived damaged but in the end it looks pretty nice and works OK.
Assembly is pretty straightforward (not as easy as IKEA, but easier than other furniture pieces I've purchased), although the type font on the instructions is so small I needed a magnifying glass to read them and I have 20/20 vision! I ordered two of these for our deck to grow vegetables and herbs, but several pieces in one of the two boxes arrived cracked/split/broken. I could still put it together, but the contrast between the golden-yellow wood on the split pieces against the dark charcoal exaggerate the broken spots. One of the frustrating things about the assembly is that you need to keep the legs loose until the very end in order to make all the pieces fit, and even then they didn't quite fit right. The mesh insert to keep soil in place while allowing water to drain is too big for the space, so the top edges flap over the side or have to be tucked into the soil. Overall they look nice and do the job, but it would have been nice to have received them without damaged pieces, especially after paying several hundred dollars for them.

Love my VegTrug
Love my VegTrug. It looks beautiful and is accessible for my son who drives a wheelchair. Only complaint is that the YouTube instructions were misleading and the side pieces ended up not fitting on very well, resulting in split wood as I had to screw the end screws into it crooked. It still works fine and you can't really see it, but it makes it not possible to tuck the lining in where it should go. Still great product and I would buy it again, but would just put it together differently.

like the idea...a bit disappointed though
Like another reviewer mentioned, the holes didn't line up and we had to use L-brackets on 3 of the corners to keep it from coming apart once we added the dirt and plants. Planted cucumbers, peppers, and some herbs in it. At the beginning of the season, everything looked green and lovely. However towards the end of the summer I noticed everything starting to yellow which leads me to believe that it wasn't draining properly. When it's empty next month I will try punching holes with a knitting needle all over and hope that it drains better next year. I'd give it 4 stars if not for the draining problem.

Great for a small herb or vegetable garden
Great for a small herb or vegetable garden. Sure easier on the back. Easy to put together if you don't tighten any bolts until you get it completely together. Watch the video before attempting to construct. I don't recommend putting the plastic "boots" on the legs. They hold water and may cause the wood to rot. One fell off mine when I was moving it and I wish I had taken all the others off. I may cut the others off as it is too heavy, now that it is filled with soil. I've had it for over a year and it still looks like new, so maybe the boots are not an issue.

I was worried about buying this based on the reviews/comments about pieces not fitting together. My 11 year old and I put this together in 30 minutes with no problems at all. I have only given it four stars so far since we have not filled it yet. Once we get the dirt and plants in, I will update this post.

I bought several of these about 3 years ago and remembered them being constructed out of harder wood. These are good, but I don't expect they will last as long as the older ones without mending (replacing provided screws with longer and/or thicker ones).

The planter seems sturdy enough; hope it will last many seasons
Assembly instructions seemed simple enough. However, the screw holes didn't line up precisely, and the corners ended up not lining up. We were not able to assemble the last front (facia) panel because the panels were skewed and thus the final front panel would not fit in. We are going to just leave it off and use it without the facia. The planter seems sturdy enough; hope it will last many seasons.

Herb Garden perfect for apartment dwellers
My sister LOVED this! We ordered it and built and stocked it for her wedding present. I love how she can grow herbs on her deck and this design is top notch. The cedar smells amazing when you put this together as well. Pieces are light weight as well and product is light and easy to move (pre-dirt).
