A cheese slicer like this is most useful for Dutch cheese like Gouda, Edam, Maasdam etc. it works far less on crumbly British cheeses such as Leicester and Cheddar, and not at all on soft cheeses such as Camembert. For when you have a wheel of Komijnenkaas or Jong Belegen though, or anything like that, this tool is a wonder. It has a satisfying feel in the hand, a nice weight to it, and it just works. Every time.

Nice grip, good blade, slices beautifully. My only gripe is that these type of cutters are not suited to solid British cheddar. They really are designed for soft Scandinavian varieties and this one is perfect for just that job.

Honestly such a great product, who thought a cheese slice could be so stylish? Certainly not me but it has a great weight, shape and is incredibly good at it's one job.

What's to say, the slicer cuts cheese in nice even not too thick nor thin slices, the crosshatch pattern helps the cheese not to stick to the plate. It cleans easily and I've cleaned mine in the dishwasher a few times and all seems fine. The slicer feels sturdy in your hand and has a nice weight to it.

Not worth the money. Blade is not particularly sharp and the slices are way too thin. A wire cutter is much better. Now sitting in a kitchen drawer unused

I've tried this cheese planet on three different cheeses. Make sure you hold the planer like a wood planer, as flat level as you can, and keep your fingers out of the blade's travel. The slices are rice paper thin. It works for cheese as a topping, but not for a sandwich.
