Adventures In Wonderland: Acid house, rave and the UK club explosion

Possibly the most comprehensive account of the Club scene, birth and growth of electronic dance music in NYC, Chicago, Detroit ...and its subsequent explosion in Ibiza, London, Manchester... incredibly rich in detail, this book is fun to read and loaded with information about the genesis of what today has morphed into a global phenomenon. For anyone who’s interested in counter-culture, urban art, creativity ... and related hustle or simply for anyone who’s forever young. If you were lucky enough to be there when it happened, you will love reminiscing...if you are too young to have lived it, read this and start your own Wonderland. Because the message is in the Music...and the Music is yours.

Good book, shame it was stolen on my last holiday!!

I had high expectations for this book about the Acid House and Rave era's but was disappointed with the way it was written. From one thing to the next, the author can't seem to decide where she is in the book. Overall not what I thought it would be.

Arrived today. Have only read a few pages so far and hooked already!Especially love the sentence…“The way the butterflies rose in your stomach as you approached the hallowed doors of a favourite club night, a portal into another world”This encapsulates the whole experience of my time clubbing at the Haçienda.

This is without a doubt the most accurate account of how the rave scene was back in the day, it's almost as good reliving those nights all over again or at least the nights I can remember. A terrific read 🙂🙃
