The ALPS Mountaineering Chaos 2-Person Tent Floor Saver is a durable, lightweight protective layer designed to enhance the longevity of your tent. Made from high-quality polyester, it features grommet and buckle attachments for secure placement. Works Well
I set up an ALPS Chaos 2 tent with this under it on rocky ground. I live on the top of a hill and have plenty of rocks with soil between them so I have a nice mix to test it. It protected the floor of the tent well.Only one slight negative was that a small amount of water leaked through it from the damp ground it was placed on. It did not get into the tent. I hung this between two trees and sprayed it with Kwiki Camp Dry and did the same to the bottom of the tent and rain-fly. Placed it on damp ground again with no leakage. I was going to apply the Camp Dry later anyway so no big deal.

Worth the money!
Some might think that they can compromise and go without or use something else as a ground sheet. This paid for itself the first time I struck camp in a pine Forrest. The ground sheet was much easier to clean than the bottom of a tent. I’m glad I made the investment. I also used it during a downpour where I didn’t have time to strike my tent. I threw this over my bike and I tucked it all around me. It worked well!

Great tent, buy bigger than you think you need.
I purchased this for solo camping and although I wish I'd gotten the three person for a little bit of extra space, I couldn't argue with the price. It sets up very easily, has plenty of space for small items in the door pockets, and the modular design gives a few options if you don't want to set up the whole thing. My only complaints are height (not easy to change inside), and a bit of sidewall sag that makes the doors harder to unzip than they would be if the walls were taut. Pretty minor overall, and if there's a tree or something that you can tie the overhang UP to, rather than down to a stake, it works much better.

A needed but pricey extra.
The floor saver works great, you can install the poles into the saver and install the fly over, letting you set your tent up dry even when it's raining. It fits inside the tent bag, keeping everything together. I will say though that it feels like it should have been included with the tent. If not, then the price seems a bit excessive.

It should come with the tent
A tent footprint is a wise investment in keeping your tent from getting dirty. Why not spend the little bit extra to protect your tent that cost 5 to 6 times as much as the footprint and have it stay clean and last you longer?I knocked off one star because in my opinion, ALPS should just include it with the tent and just raise the price a little, not make it something optional in the name of saving the buyer about 15% on the price of the tent.

Glad to find this on here!
I bought the Chaos 2 tent a couple years ago at REI then they stopped carrying this brand and I was worried I would never find the footprint to match it. Lo and behold Amazon now carries it so I bought it as soon as I saw it. I love this tent and it has worked well for me so I am excited to be able to find more of these products on Amazon!

This does the job well, and packs away into the Chaos 2 Tent bag well when wrapped up with the poles and stakes. The extra clips on the side are awkward, and with the floor-saver causes one of the clip sets to sit on the side without being clipped in.

I feel like I really didn't need this
I feel like I really didn't need this. I bought it because everyone kept saying how I should have a footprint for my tent. To me it doesn't really add any comfort or make the tent any less dirty, it's just another paper thin layer. I guess it probably prolongs the life of the actual tent bottom looking X years way out but it's kind of more a hassle to have this extra thing to bring around with it.

Must Have
if you own or are planning on buying the ALPS MOUNTAINEERING CHAOS 2, then this is a must have. The footprint packs up nicely in it's own bag but we have added it to the tent's bag so everything is in one place. Suitable to connect right to your fly as you assemble the tent inside (if raining). we did get caught in a downpour and this kept our tent bottom nice and try.

A Must-Have
Purchased the floor saver along with the Alps Chaos 2 tent. Most campgrounds these days are made for RVs so you end up on crushed gravel, which can damage the tent floor. One of these helps immensely. In fact I had to supplement this floor saver with heavy-duty space blanket at a couple of camp sites over our three week moto-tour.Overall, I'm glad I bought this as it helped save the tent bottom.

Cancer causing chemicals
Beware— upon receiving, the packaging states it has cancer causing chemicals. Why this wasn’t front and centre when I bought it on here 🤷♀️ But ... won’t use it now, even though I spent the money and bought it.
