Works better than expected! These buggers were destroying our fruit trees. This is 4 days of collection. Almost an inch per day. Seems to work best in late afternoon, during the hottest part of the day.

Wow. The amount of beetles it caught in the 1st hour was insane! Yes, it's gross to empty the bag when it's getting heavy but the awkwardness of doing it is well worth the results it gives. I highly recommend this! It's amazing. So easy to use n very effective.

When used as directed, these things work very effectively.

I’ve had it out for less than an hour and I already have 25 Beatles! I give it a five for how well it works I give it a 1 for how poor the directions are! The directions say not to remove the product on the actual attractant packaging but I did not see that. The trick is to leave the attractant in the package peel back the top layer and the whole plastic attractant holder slips into the top part of the contraption. The end of the bag with a tiny holes goes at the bottom and the part of the bag with the four holes goes at the top. Hope that helps someone

These beetle traps do a very good job of attracting and catching Japanese beetles. At times the traps look like busy airports with beetles lined up to fly into the trap. When setting the traps up, it is VERY IMPORTANT to put them along the property line and away from plants that you are trying to protect. The reason is that the traps will attract beetles from neighboring properties and if they are in the middle of your property instead of the edge they could actually increase the numbers of beetles that find the way onto your property and stop off to eat your plants before making it to the traps. I like to place the traps at the corners of my property and at strategic places to attract the beetles away from the plants I'm trying to protect. The packaging says the traps should be spaced about 150' apart along the property line and from my experience this is sound advice. I just wish I could buy replacement lores and bags from the same Amazon merchant such that shipping costs could be merged and thus buying replacements would be more cost effective than buying the entire kit. This would certainly cut down on the number of plastic yellow trap frames that get thrown away.
