I've used this for 2 years now, still works fine and I have been able to use it to do a fuel system bleed after fuel filter change, battery re-code and even re-code a new set of injectors I fitted to my 535D. I have also found that you can set a regen to activate to the DPF which I used but can't verify if it works or not, also the live data readings is quite handy. Overall good item.

Easy to use diagnostic tool for the 650i F12.

I use windows 11 and it didn’t do anything for the SW update when plugged into the USB port. I went onto their web site down loaded the updated software/drivers (first language option) on the list. Plugged it back in and used the program and It updated in a few mins. I spend a couple of hours with it plugged into my Mini Cooper S R53. With the engine stopped and also running. It showed and cleared multiple transient faults. I couldn’t find exactly what caused my problem but it said one module had an internal fault and it cleared it. It also easily reset the service interval/oil service that my local garage had not done. . As a diagnostic tool I could see the “live data” stream for each section module by module was going to be very useful. For example you can read what the oxygen sensors voltage are doing in real time with engine running as I suspected one was faulty but I decided It wasn’t as they were both functioning. How you interpret read valued from the information is another matter. This would require much more technical experience. I believe it would quickly show you a failed sensor. As purely a diagnosis tool that can also reset nuisance transient faults it did what I wanted. I can’t compare it with other cheaper scanners but it will do me for what I need it for. If you took you car to a BMW garage for diagnostic session it would be more than the price I paid. The build quality seemed to be to a good standard.

Ordered it before midday and it arrived by 9pm the same day as stated on the listing. I was recommended this as someone else uses it any they are far more knowledgeable than I am. It does and will continue to be a benefit to me.

I spent a while looking at the plethora of scanners and in the end just paid a bit extra and went for the 7910 rather than a more basic model. I’m more used to vintage cars but the 7910 really is as easy as turning on the ignition and plugging it in. A few clicks later and it had completed a full automatic scan and helped me to know where to start looking (misfire in cylinder 5…). It also identified a few other less significant issues which I wasn’t aware of. Appears to be a well made tool that will save me trips to the garage to identify issues.

Scanner OK, but price extortionate. Same model currently 41 pounds on aliexpress.

This is fantastic - allows the Airbag SRS light to be cleared on GEN1 Mini’s (R50, R52 and R53). I made the mistake of removing my seat after disconnecting the battery (to avoid serting airbag codes) - disconnecting the yellow and blue airbag/tensioner connectors under the seat. However I left the blue connector disconnected when I reconnected the battery - it sets an airbag code and the airbag warning light will remain on on the dash (MOT fail and ai guess inactive airbag system). The only way an airbag light/code can be reset is by a compatible tool. I emailed many scan tool suppliers on Amazon as their claims are ambiguous - most if not all said not compatible. I updated my software to V2.5 (March 2024) and the feature to reset SRS/Airbag codes was present and worked! Another useful feature on this tool for the Mini is a bleed routine for the ABS system - if you allow air into the brake lines and it gets into the ABS unit (eg near master cylinder or a brake line connected to the ABS unit) then it can be impossible to pressure or vacuum bleed the air out of the ABS unit. Running this ABS bleed routine on the tool whilst bleeding the calipers moves the pump and valves in the ABS unit to help get the air out - another rare feature for DIY tool. Of course the tool does all the regular fault code reading etc.

When I reset the system on my BMW with this machine my windows seem to stop working and caused me some electrical issues. DO NOT BUY

Es ist keine BMW INPA oder gar ISTA Software, aber das Auslesen von Fehlern und das Löschen dieser funktioniert ausgezeichnet. Hervorragend ist bei diesem Gerät auch die Visualisierung der Fehler. Sie werden sehr deutlich in roter Farbe angezeigt. Viele Geräte, welche Freunde von mir haben oder ich bereits in meinen Händen hatte, übersieht man schnell die einzelnen Fehler da die Schriftfarbe der Fehler sich nicht von den anderen Schriften unterscheidet. Wer für wenig Geld mehr Fahrzeuge auslesen will und nicht für jede Marke ein separates Gerät kann sich bei icarsoft mit bsplw. crmax bedienen. Für mich bleibt dies ein praktischer kleiner Fehlerausleser für unterwegs/Urlaub bei welchem ich mir um Akkustand etc. keine Sorgen machen muss. Es kommt nicht in den Shadow-Speicher und kann auch nichts codieren. Dafür kann aber auch nichts kaputt gemacht werden. + Für den Preis ist es ein solides Gerät. + Gerät funktioniert Stand-Alone + Keine Batterie/Akku notwendig da Stromversorgung ausschließlich über die ODB-Schnittstelle erfolgt + regelmäßige Updates über die Hersteller-Webseite + Deutsche Sprachausgabe + Fehler mit Text und nicht nur Codes + gute/verständliche Menu-Führung + Fehler werden rot angezeigt (viele vergleichbare Geräte machen dies nicht!) Sollte in jedem Keller eines BMW-Schraubers liegen und auf einen Einsatz warten.
