Metal box with 48 colors

Excellent company. Metal case with one mixing area. I placed 4 empty pans I had on hand and placed in the middle row and will fill with artist grade paint. The water reservoir design is unique. The mixing area opens at an angle so might prop up or if hold in your hand to paint would keep it better aligned. Comes with swatch card. Paints highly pigmented. It's quite expensive at over $80 USdollars. Try to always buy the best quality paint products you can. It really does make a difference, Same for paper.

Creamy, vibrant, stunning high quality paints! The color selection in this palette is exceptional. I like This paint for so many reasons, but briefly, I love that you can paint thick and bold, or translucent and dreamy and all sorts of inbetween and have stable consistent lasting color. If you like to paint on trips, vacations, or visits to the park, you will have every color you need and several convenience colors to paint with, including flesh tones. The palette tin is the same as the Sennelier tin of 48 paints. I sand down the sharp edges with sand paper, and I don't rely on the clips to hold the paints in. I add magnets to the bottoms of the pans. I write the color name and brand name on the pans in black sharpie. This way I can use my favorite paints in a smaller tin if I have need of a smaller palette. Adding magnets does add some weight to the palette. Overall, this paint is worth the cost. A little really does go a long way. If you buy it use it, don't treat it precious and be afraid to have fun with it. The only wasted art tool is one that is not used and life is just too short to have things that bring you joy and not use them.

What can I say? This was a great way to be introduced to the Schmincke watercolor line! The palette, which was crafted in Italy, cost at least $80 without any paints at all. Therefore, for me, it was as if I received 8 half pans Schmincke watercolors for free! I've yet to fill it with water; but I have used the paints and the palette to mix the colors. I thought that it was a lovely entry point price wise, quality wise, and beauty and purity of the chosen colors. Schmincke watercolors are clean, exquisite, and delicate. You would be surprised at all of the color combinations that can be coaxed out of the 8 pans. I've used this palette and paints quite frequently, and have also added an additional two palettes and 22 more Schmincke colors to my collection.

I have complete faith in the paint quality. The enamel paint job is poor. Looks like rough sandpaper on the bottom of the cup. I hope the physical integrity and strength of the box holds up to keep the paint secure. It does not feel as solid as other Schmincke pan sets that I own. I've been using this brand for 30 years. Quality control needs improvement on this particular set. The paint is stellar but I was disappointed when I opened the box. The painted box is marginal to poor.

Amazing pigment. I wish when I started watercolor I didn’t listen to the YouTube creators that said get a cheap pan of paints. All it caused was frustration I could not get the color depth I wanted. I spent more money testing paints when if I would have just picked one of the top few. The quality is top notch!

Beautiful selection of watercolors in a very beautiful box with a porcelain watercolor tray, the selection of colors are very stunning. The watercolors are very pigmented and smooth to use and a very good selection of different colors to choose from. This is a very high quality product for any professional artist. They are very expensive but you can see why.

Schmincke makes excellent quality watercolor paints. Unfortunately this palette came damaged. It was not packaged properly, only put in a plastic shipping bag with no insulation. The corner of the box was pushed in. In that corner, a piece of enamel on the palette was chipped off. The top cover of the palette has scratches all over it. It is in poor condition. This was poorly handled. There’s definitely damage from shipping, but I wonder how all the scuffs and scratches got on the cover. Pictures are attached to show the damage. I give five stars for Schmincke, because Schmincke makes great paint and if the palette was in proper condition, it would deserve five stars. For the handling of the package, and the damage, it wouldn’t deserve any stars.

NOPE!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!. I got this two days ago. I was so excited until I took the lid off. The enamel finish is chipped inside the water cap and on all four nubs on the top. Which means it is going to rust almost immediately. The first few times in humidity and its done for. Then I opened it to try the paints. Only to see both rails used to keep the pans secure were bent. Which means neither row of paints will secure. When I tried to use the sepia the blue pops up. When I use the blue the sepia pops up. When I use the ochre the yellow flies out. When I use the yellow the ochre pops up. I'm so gd mad at the quality of this over priced door so I'll never buy schmincke brand again. Save your money and just go with the portable palette. You'll be happier. At least it actually holds the pans securely and won't rust away in a year.

Voici plus de 25 ans que je fais de l'aquarelle avec la marque "classique" de Winsor et Newton (qui reste d'une bonne qualité). Mais j'ai décidé de changer pour une gamme supérieure et franchement, après avoir vu quelques podcasts sur cette marque, je confirme qu'elle est EXCELLENTE ! Très supérieure en pigment, elle est plus "brillante" et très agréable à mélanger. D'ailleurs elle prend bien mieux les autres couleurs sans faire "boueux". Je suis enchantée de cet achat !

No me gustó que la caja de las acuarelas no llevara ningún adhesivo que mantuviera cerrada, con el peso de la caja de acuarelas se salían. Las acuarelas, tras hacer la carta de color, me han enamorado. Los colores son preciosos y brillantes. Intensos. Tal vez es excesivo para una principiante pero quería invertir para que me duren mucho tiempo y con buena calidad. Las recomiendo.
