Great for Homeschool Geography
I would have loved this book 15 years ago when I was creating my own materials to teach geography. This is an amazing book. There are 50 countries featured. Chosen for their importance to history and the modern world. They are in no particular order, so feel free to jump around. There are important facts like the bird, flag, capital, and key cities. Main points of history. Important geography and cities. Why the country is important, food/industries, and so much more. These would be great for a family who wants to include geography in a fun way. Use the book to start discussions and get the kids interested in learning more about the country.Awesome book, highly recommend.Words are small, the book is quite large. This is not a standard sized book.

Great way to introduce different countries to my children
50 Maps of the World: Explore the globe with 50 fact-filled maps! (The 50 States)When we read various stories picture book stories that are biographical in nature or picture books that take place in a different part of the world, my kids ask me where those locations are on our globe. Once we find the location, we pull this book to explore some of the locations we are reading in their other books. While no book can really cover all the countries in this kind of detail, it does contain most of the countries we have searched for. This book is filled with so many facts that we always learn something new when we open this book. My oldest especially likes the box of key facts and comparing what money each country uses and the languages they speak. This book has been a great addition to our home library.

Lovely Oversized Book....
This is a lovely book. It's oversized and filled with a soothing style of art and colors. It's also filled with tons of little facts. If you're wanting a book purely for the maps, I can't overly recommend this one. If you want it more for learning bits of trivia about places around the world, this is a great one to get. Each of the maps are so filled with words and illustrations that, at least for us, there's not a lot of education there. It's still a super educational book, just not overly with maps. Aside from the map part, it's a wonderful book. There are tons of things for the eye to see and read and hours could be spent soaking it all in.
