Awesome book, but only for ground
This book has plenty of pages, great photos, and any ground technique you could wish for, but only for someone joining you on the mat. I give it 4 stars because there are no standing techniques and no throws. So while offering vast amounts of knowledge, it is still lacking in my opinion. Highly recommended for what it is though.

Insuperable y distinto a cualquier otro

Good resource
Nowadays almost all jiu-jitsu practitioners find technique demonstrations online. However, this book has something online videos are lacking - Instead of being about one single technique, like most online videos are - this book guides through simple techniques for white belt all way up to black belt techniques. Techniques shown in this book often build on previously shown concepts, from simpler to more advanced ones. There are a handful of white belt techniques, mostly about surviving disadvantageous positions and submission attempts, the majority of the book focuses on techniques at blue and brown belt levels. Techniques are demonstrated by Saulo and his brother Xande, wearing a blue and a white gi. This makes easy to see leg/arm position and distinguish which limb belongs to whom. Book format in contrast to online videos is close to a stop motion animation. Each technique consists of several photos taken at key moments of technique execution, each photo has a description of what is going on ats its side. Further, each step in photos is shown by 2 photos taken at the same time, from the opposite direction. “Common misconceptions” at the end of each section shows common mistakes/errors done while executing previously described techniques.
