Mild, delicious, crisp, and fun
I followed the instructions on the package to let them soak to rehydrate and then rinse them. I rinsed them twice with clean water both times, and when I tried them, they were very mild in flavor, and I loved the pop. There was no slimy texture, and the were crisp on the outside, tender outside, and had a fun crunch. The closest flavor and level of moisture on the outside I can think of to compare sea grapes to is lettuce. I imagine if you don't follow the directions on the package and skip the double rinse, they might be more slick or even slimy. You have to treat them like any fresh ocean vegetable and gently turn them during the rinse to get all over them. After testing them plain, I decided they would a wonderful topper on a bowl of rice with teriyaki and flaky fish, but I didn't feel like boiling a pot of rice to test this out, so I just tossed them with some teriyaki sauce in a bowl and went to town. They were amazing! The pop as I ate them did remind me a little of salmon roe, but without the teriyaki, they don't carry that same iodine-salt flavor that salmon roe has, so they really do need something like tamari or soy sauce added to them.I'm going to buy another bag and show a little more restraint this time, throwing together some rice bowls with flaky fish, teriyaki, and nori seaweed with the sea grapes as a finishing touch.I don't often encounter a new ingredient that impresses me this much and inspires so much culinary creativity, but this one is a total 5 out of 5.

Tastes like sea water
The media could not be loaded. This product is not worth it at all. 1. No matter how many times we rinsed we could not get salty sea taste out of these and there was absolutely no flavor at all! Not sure how they enhance food other than by providing a popping crunch feel...salmon roe so much better for that!

Tasteless, slimy
They expanded quickly on the water. Flavor wasn't bad. Almost completely tasteless. The slime was off-putting. Wouldn't recommend if you don't like okra-type slime. They were fun. One of my children looked them, one didn't. It was cool to try something new, but I wouldn't continue to purchase them.

A nice touch to my sushi/sashimi
These are yummy and a fine accompaniment for Asian dishes. This was my second-time purchase.

Weird but fun to try
The media could not be loaded. I thought wow what a small amount til I soaked them. Very different and would make a great novelty and decoration. These feel like caviar and taste like seaweed, okra, little fishy but of course their from the sea. They have a great pop but are slimy like okra. I wouldn't buy again just don't think it's worth the money. On a scale between 1-10 I say 6 so you be the judge.

Not For Everybody
I followed the directions and it turned out the way it was supposed to be, but it's just not for me, which I know isn't the seller's problem, but I wanted to let everybody know. It has a slimness to it, like snot or okra, and to me had an iron taste to it. Definitely does not have a seaweed taste even though it smells fishy. I sampled it with my niece and nephew whom also hated it. I paid about $10 for something I had to throw in the trash.

Very fishy taste
Came out as the picture said it would and tastes like seaweed. I rinsed a few times. May be good onto of salads but by itself was just not for me.
