Good for its price, small, lightweight. Cuts ropes and twigs but don't expect to be chopping wood.
For its price point, it performs well. It's small (really just one-handed) and lightweight, so can easily be integrated into martial arts, if that's your thing. Cuts cords, ropes, and twigs just fine, but I doubt it has the necessary heft and sturdiness to be chopping wood.

The steel quality is very poor. Sadly.
Unfortunately, its not the quality that we have expected it. Our first wooden works project with the family didn't went well. The quality of the AXE is poor, the steel is weak and simply couldn't sustain the impact. The layer of the front steel (sharped age) was broken after several hits over the tree branch. Images are available if need. Its sharp but weak.

This hatchet will be very useful in the bush... it will no doubt take a beating and the business edge is long and gradual and can stand in for a knife blade anyday. It's also very sharp, no need to regrind or even hone, though it could use with a micro-bevel if it will see heavy, prolonged use. Ergonomics is perfect for decent swing weight, handle is very grippy and won't fly out of your hand easily, even in heavy use. The weight is decently low as well, for a hatchet of this size. This is one area where proper weight to use ratio is important. Not enough and it's simply a useless hatchet. Too much and your back will complain. This tool is a pretty good balance. If even more weight is needed, there is a largish hole (approx .5 inch or a bit over a centimeter) in the back of the blade that you could lash a rock or a heavy something to it as well, to increase momentum weight. The sheath is very nice looking, but has been designed poorly in that the threads of it are directly exposed to the very sharp blade. It' will fail within the first day. Too bad, as the sheath is very well made otherwise, and is a higher quality material than expected. I shoved some tough duct tape layers into it for now, But I think it may have to be riveted and lined with something to prevent it from falling apart. All in all though, I rate this 4.5 stars, with the half star loss due to the thread thing. A purchase well made if you need one in your backpack.

Great little low profile no frills camping hatchet. Feels good in the hand and has held up well over the years.

Awesome little cheap (inexpensive) hatchet. Don't expect to split logs or anything but if you need to take down a sapling or skin something I can see this being a solid tool. I took it out and went through a few logs of cedar, lightweight so very little arm fatigue and it stayed very sharp for what I put it through. Had to give it 4 out of 5 because it's so sharp in fact it well...cut through the sheath. So hatchet 5/5 sheath 3/5 makes it a 4/5 for this tool. Makes kindling well, can be used to split (sort of) with a hammer/heavy stick etc., lightweight and sharp.
