I got it mainly because it's a notebook and has wire binding which makes opening it 180º or 360º a breeze. This size is very portable, sturdy and travels well inside a backpack (I keep it shut inside the bag with a binder clip).Packing for shipping was poor: the notebook came unprotected inside amazon's plastic bag. Luckily it arrive undamaged.Be AWARE that the front of each sheet is less textured than the back; for me aquarell/watercolour has worked best on the backside.

looks either used or not well packaged. Most of the papers have black lines on them. I couldn't erase them. Very disappointed. will not buy again.

I had already bought the journal in A4 size and have been very impressed with how the surface handles watercolour and mixed media. The surface doesn't break down when using masking or washi tape, unlike many other surfaces.

This is my second Strathmore journal. The paper is very good quality and takes watercolour and water-colour pencil well. I like the size as it is neither too small to allow for street scenes, fields etc nor too big to be ungainly to transport.

Although it did take a while to arrive (something I ordered from Japan at the same time arrived first!) when it did I was overjoyed. It's big and heavy which is really comforting- it means the paper is a good weight and you know it'll do the job. It's brilliant to sketch in, holds watercolour without buckling and has really solid cover boards.

These are very good quality watercolor paper sheets in a visually appealing journal. It's pretty as is, and every drawing makes it even prettier! Love to see it, love to use it, just love it! :)

The size is perfect for traveling! As can be seen in the photo, I bought 2 sizes for comparison. One side is rougher than the other. The rough side MAY result to good bleeding when I do my painting. I have yet to try and will update this post as soon as I have tried it. But I have high hopes. 😊
