works great just what I needed

I needed a low-watt bulb for the small lamp that I have in my bathroom. I leave that light on at night, in case anyone has to use the room, so they don't have to turn on the regular bright lights. I read that red or amber lights were a good choice, as they are warm relaxing colors that promote good sleep. In this way no one is exposed to artificial blue or bright lights which would interfere with their sleep when returning to bed. This little bulb is the perfect solution.

It is a painted lightbulb like you used to get on Christmas light strings. It is about the size of a cherry tomato. I use it for my popcorn machine in my movie room as the white bulb that came with it was too bright.

Bought this and returned it, as my lamp is for a 3 way bulb. It didn't work in my lamp. Amazon graciously declined my returning it. Looks good though. May be just right for you.

For night vision

Used in a old fashion exit sign, did the trick.

I purchased this color bulb because I support the the fire department in my area. I have it in my outdoor pole lantern for all to see. More people should put red bulbs in their porch light or wherever to show the fire department that we support them
