Cambridge International GCSE Biology Complete Revision & Practice - for exams in 2022

These are very good study guides, my school experience preparing for GCSE and studying science before hand, was not a particularly good one. I really could have done with something like this from start to finish to assist in my learning and then to assist with my exam preparation. So I REALLY recommend getting one of these to support learning/schooling and hopefully exam success.The book is very well structured, it has clear contents, each section is clearly labelled and accompanied by summary and revision questions, there are also a number of mock examination papers (two Core, two Extended, one Alternative to practical). The facts, theory and practical skills are all covered. Most importantly of all, the manner of structuring, the labeling of sections, even the colours used throughout the text makes it easy to find what you are looking for, cuts down on frustration or the challenge associated with study.A good text might not be sufficient to prime motivation for study but a bad text is sure to cause interest or motivation to take a hit, definitely, the good news is this is a good text. I liked the section on plant life the best, largely for the same reasons that another reviewer mentioned. This would be a good text for independent study, for supported learning with a tutor, parent/carer or to support a lesson plan (it does follow all the requirements of current syllabus).Text is not too dense, it is also not sparse to each page and does not feel like it contains any superfluous/"filler" material. There are some accompanying illustration, diagrams, pictures, some of which are a little small but none of which could impede learning through a lack of clarity. Recommended.

Of the sciences Biology was my favourite when I was at school but I've still managed to forget just about everything I was taught. That's where this this book has really helped us in lockdown.These books have been lifesavers for me and my daughter. The art direction is superb. Lots of white space so you can take stuff in without being confused.Loads of examples of how to do things and really well though through in building knowledge of topics.The paper quality is good as well so stuff does not bleed through.There are test papers and a glossary. I'd highly recommend it. Just make sure you know which exam board your child's school uses.

As expected from CGP this text covers all the required syllabus, fully and concisely. The text is supported with clear diagrams. There are questions to reinforce your learning throughout. At the end there is full mock exam with sample answers.The book has a good quality index and an excellent glossary. The layout of the glossary makes it easy to usefor quick quizzing or as a fast way of identifying areas that you may need to spend more time on.What I do not like is the use of excessive text highlighting. It is not obvious why some words are in bold and why some words are coloured. The text would be clearer if fewer fonts were used. Coloured text on the same coloured background is undesirable. Creatures in some of small photographs are not instantly recognisable, which makes them unsuitable as navigation aids.I do no feel that this is any better than the alternative publications for this exam course. It is the most concise if that is what your prefer. It is also amongst the least expensive.

Yet another top quality revision and practice book from CGP. This time for the New Cambridge GCSE Biology exam. Best to check that the student is working towards that exam as each board is a little different. Everything a student will need is covered here. Biology was my top subject decades ago at school looking through this book and comparing with my class notes from then this book is so very good. The sections of plant life are for me the most useful. However the whole book is written so well. Towards the end of the book five practice papers are included, two for Core, two for Extended material and an Alternative to Practical paper suitable for all students.Overall there are 288 pages with an excellent index, glossary and an online version.Recommended

This Cambridge international GCSE biology revision book contains everything you need to know the facts ,theory and practical skills there’s also a lot of exam style questions in the book. There’s even a set a realistic practice papers in the back of this book. The contents is laid out clearly there are a number of sections and clearly labelled easy for you to find the section that you wish to revise. The book has coloured titles and good illustration clear and easy understanding written notes explanation is good and there is a revision summary after each section making revision easy , a Really useful book for any child that is going to be doing their GCSEs the book covers everything that they need to know .
