Samsung Odyssey G9 49 Inch Curved QLED Gaming Monitor - Ultrawide Dual QHD (5120 x 1440p Resolution), Rapid 240hz Refresh Rate, 1ms response time, G-Sync and FreeSync support, 1000R curvature

This monitor is quite different from the ones I am used to. I have 2x27" Samsung monitors side-by-side at work and they advertised this one as the same screen size as 2x27" screens in one. The result is that this is a huge screen and takes up a lot of your desk space due to the curved shape and the screen size. It took me some time to get used to it but after a couple of weeks I like it very much. I am running Windows 10 on the computer that is connected to the monitor and using its quick tricks to position open windows makes the use of this monitor excellent! (to split the screen between two applications, just drag one of them to the very edge of the screen. If you want 4 windows then drag one to any of the very corners and the app aligns to 1/4 of the screen etc). The main issue I had with the monitor is the curve is a bit sharp for my taste, since I had no experience from curved screens before. It is excellent for race games and such but can be annoying when games or applications force you to use full screen, which is luckily not often. I coupled an Geforce GTC 2080 TI graphics card to it and that allows the full use of the monitor's frequency range when using a Display-Port cable (full 240Hz at maximum resolution) but when I tried to use a HDMI cable then the options were more limited, probably due to technology limitations rather than my HDMI cable. I used the cable that came with the monitor and despite other buyer's issues with their cable, mine works fine, so Samsung has hopefully upgraded their cable supply to a better quality. The picture quality of the screen is excellent and I have not run into any issues with anything so far after approximately 4 weeks' use. I can therefore recommend this monitor but at the same time I recommend you to check first if you would have an issue with the curve's radius being so sharp.

Good monitor

Just amazing.. Been using it for a month. Only a slight issue is that the monitor dosent start by the pc, you should start it manually. I guess it's a setting related issue that am figure out later. Other that that just amazing

When it comes to displaying 8K, everything is perfect. I have tested this on a MacBook pro m1 max and it works perfectly well. however, there are no speakers. I don't know why I expected them to be there

I’m not even joking when I say it’s broken. Literally one day decided to not turn on. No physical damage to it just simply doesn’t work. Do not buy it’s a waste of money

My first review of this was harsh, however, as I've been using it daily since then I deleted it and am writing a new review. This monitor is a productivity monster! In the beginning, I had issues, but after troubleshooting for a few days (TURN OFF ADAPTIVE SYNC) the monitor began to shine! I have not had any screen flickering issues, light bleeding or pixel discoloration like many of the quality issues reported online. My only issue with it at this stage is the internal software that changes inputs as it's quite slow compared to my LG. That and it's slow to wake up from sleep.... I'm talking really slow... Maybe Samsung will fix that with a firmware update soon as its a great monitor!
