great option
Has a nice subtle fragrance and feels very nice on the skin. Worked really well on my very dry skin and on my husband’s normal skin. We ultimately ended up not repurchasing it as we want a bit more spf.

works well, protects skin
I wanted a daily-use product with a mineral based sunscreen >SPF 15, without animal testing, and not crazy expensive. I've been using this product daily for a little over 2 weeks and overall am happy with it and will buy it again. It's definitely thicker than the SPF15 chemical sunscreen daily face lotion I was using previously, and a little sticky when you first put it on, but it dries smooth and without leaving your skin looking oddly white. I don't typically use makeup over the top of it so can't comment on that. Scent is citrus-esque but not overly strong. It doesn't burn my eyes. It hasn't caused any weird breakouts or made my skin oily or overly dry.

All year Must-Have
I've always been a fan of Andalou products and have always used this for added SPF protection on my face. It is lightweight and smells pleasant. It doesn't weigh your skin down and I like that it has plant-based and organic ingredients that is good for your skin. It gets absorb by the skin pretty nicely and I usually use it as a base for my make-up without creating a cakey feel afterwards. I only not use it in the Summer but anytime it's sunny out even during the Winter. It's also great at moisturizing my face so there's that added benefit. However, if you already have sun spots, this will not lighten it or make it go away, it will at the very least protect your face from getting more, and protect the ones your already have from getting darker from sun exposure.

It’s definitely face SPF
It’s a good sunscreen, I normally buy any brand but this one was on sale so I got it. I am able to put makeup over it without issues but I also don’t care too much about my makeup being perfect. Interesting kind of citrusy scent that I wasn’t expecting. Four stars because for the price it isn’t revolutionary, cetaphil faca spf does a similar job.

Favorite skin product and protection.
This product is wonderful for your face as a sunscreen and moisturizer. Use every day to protect your skin from damage from the sun. All winter too. Your skin will thank you. ❤️

THIS is my sunscreen. FINALLY!! It was quite a search....I'm so glad it's over.
I didn't start wearing sunscreen until last year. I'm 49. Yeah, that was a bit of a problem, but better late than never. So going into it, I just figured I would pick one up at the drug store and it would be fine. No big deal. Wrong. HUGE deal. I had no idea about white casts, or how drying they could be, and then dealing with wrinkles and sun damage, and wearing makeup over it. OMG, I wanted to scream after the 10th tube of failed sunscreen. Little did I know there would SO MANY MORE failed tubes in my future. This was a desperation buy. I had typed "moisturizing facial sunscreen" into the search bar on here and was just reading description after description. I literally said to myself when ordering it, "Good Lord, just try it. What's one more and this one is only $7." I also ordered 2 other brands at the same time. A really spendy one and a drugstore brand. Those have gone into the fail drawer. I'm now set for sunscreen until the year 2025, I'm sure.....for the rest of my body anyway. This one I've put on my Amazon subscription list cause I don't want to ever run out. It is SOOO freakin' moisturizing. It feels like it's just part of my morning skin care. I absolutely love the scent. It's a fresh citrus scent that isn't overly heavy and it's isn't noticeable for long, but holy heck I love it! It also doesn't irritate my eyes, which is huge bonus and that was something I just thought every sunscreen did and I was just going to have to learn to live with it. No white cast. NOT drying. I seriously haven't found one thing I don't like about this sunscreen. Apparently when I first bought it, it was during a price drop or something, because it's now almost $12 a tube, but even at that it's a damn bargain. I'd pay way more for this little sucker and not even think twice. I've since checked out their other products because all the bonus "skin love"(peptides, anti-oxidants, plant stem cells, and OMG.....RESVERITROL, people!!!!) that came along in this sunscreen made me curious about their other products. Those are definitely worth checking out if you find you enjoy this one.

Clean ingredients, nice feel & well priced
It's a nice item, and well priced considering it has good ingredients in it. A little goes a long way, and it covers my dry, "middle-aged" skin well without being heavy or greasy. I wear it for daily protection layered over facial serums and a light weight moisturizer. It helps lock everything in and makes my skin look luminous but not oily. I'll give an update when I wear it under my makeup to see how it lasts.

Pros & Cons for Sensitive, Combination skin
My review is of the Andalou Naturals Ultra Sheer Daily Defense Facial Lotion SPF 18, April 2020. I have combination skin (parts of my face are dry whereas other parts are oily) that is sensitive to many products. I was using a general face/body lotion that was no longer up to snuff as I'm aging and I decided to give this a shot. I applied this lotion every morning after a cleanse or exfoliation for two weeks. Every night I cleanse again and use a different, more moisturizing cream. Pros: --- Within two weeks of using Daily Defense, the size of the pores along my T zone visibly shrunk and my skin appeared overall healthier and smoother. I was thrilled with these results. --- I like how light this lotion feels. --- Quick absorption that did not leave an oily or glossy residue or appearance. --- According to the Environmental Working Group Skin Deep, this was rated a "3". This is better than many other facial lotions out there. --- SPF of 18 offers some sun protection. Cons: --- Within one week of using, I did have one or two new blemishes appear during a time of the month that I don't normally suffer from blemishes. This was very disappointing. --- The EWG rating of "3" still isn't quite good enough for me. --- I'm really disappointed that this product contains citrus peel oil. I didn't realize how significant a factor it would be until I tried the product, but it's rated level "5" on EWG and is a major irritant if it gets near or in my eyes. Unknown Considerations: I have very dry skin in the winter. I'm not sure if this lotion would be moisturizing enough for my face during the winter. Conclusion: I will not purchase the Daily Defense lotion again. Instead, I'm next going to try the "Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Daily Shade Facial Lotion SPF 18", which will hopefully reduce / solve the blemish issue. Furthermore, the Roses product is a EWG "2" and has less citrus peel than the Daily Defense does so it's hopefully less irritating. Why does Andalou even bother to include citrus peel in their facial lotions? It's well known to be an irritant. I don't get it.
