Great value on a beautiful sword
The media could not be loaded. This is one of the coolest saya I have seen on Amazon, with a subtle red near the koiguchi. Nice comfy fit on the habaki, and the wrap is reasonably tight for the price. The highlight of the sword is the blade, which is black with a ground cosmetic hamon. I cut beach mats with it, with no resistance at all.

9/10 For Price
Sharp Blade. Nice feel. Good looks. The only problem is the hand wrap is loose so I had to glue it down. Solid product for good price!

Let the finished natural layering designes express themselves with mirror reflection..
What I like: The sword is sturdy and very well balanced. It's sharp right out of the box. What I dislike: The scabbard is really lose and rattles alot. But the description did talk about this in all fairness. The black paint covered the natural blades mirrored reflection so much it was covering the craftsmans metal work just above the amazing razor edge that the image shows in your pictures.Regardless of the matter this is a strong and beautiful make. Nice ✔

its what you would expect.
Its phenomenal for its price, but the handle is very much low quality, and the actual blade is metal but is cheap looking.you get what you paid for a display katana.

Sharp
My son got this for Christmas. He and his brother played fruit ninja video game when they were young. Now they are teens. I can joke from work with sliced oranges all over the yard as they were tossing oranges to each other and slicing them mid air with this sword. Don’t judge my parenting-at least they were outside.

Why the blade…why…
I got this for about $50 on sale. I bought two other katanas on sale from this same company and those were impressive! This one though…ugh.I wish it were as good as the other two lower end models I bought. I think this entire katana was done on a “Monday morning”. A very early Monday morning. After a weekend of partying. The good: The blade is scary sharp. As I wiped off the oil on the blade, it was like the rag was drawn magically to the edge and it’d catch on it. Not catch on it in a bad way either. Super impressed with the edge, more so because it’s scary sharp the entire length of the blade. The decorative knot on the saya (scabbard) was wrapped super tight! So much so that I thought they glued parts of the cord to the saya when I was untying it. (I practice iaido, battojutsu, etc so I hadto do it)The blade color. A very nice black chrome look to it.Handling. The sword handles “above average”. Even better than higher end katanas I own. But…Now for the bad.The blade. Whoever shaped it on that very early Monday morning after a weekend of hard partying did a number on it! Both sides are concave right before the tip. See the pics. The Habaki. It’s like in order to fit this blade into it they had to cut a slit. The Tsukamaki.(Handle wrap). Terribly loose. I mean, seriously terrible.I REALLY wanted to like this katana, as it’s my first ever “colored blade” ones, aside from a few red Damascus ones I have. I can replace the Habaki, re-wrap the handle, etc etc But the misshapen blade just ruined it. I mean look at it! This sword is still fully functional but ugh the blade…why the blade…
