I don’t think I can even describe how good this red cornmeal is!I made the best cornbread I have ever made in my life with this! Same recipe as my standard recipe, didn’t change anything else and it was eyes rolling back in my head good!Seriously this cornmeal has taken my cornbread to death-row-meal level of good!Previously I wasn’t happy with my cornbread - it was really good but not excellent and I really wanted it to be excellent. So I purchased a number of books, tried many different recipes, even harassing one of my southern friends for her family recipe but the perfect recipe remained out of my reach.Until this cornmeal along and I made my old standby recipe with it.Crunchy on the outside, soft and moist in the middle and the flavor was incredible! More savory and complex than my usual cornmeal.This cornmeal has spoiled me for any other cornmeal. I hope that I can buy it forever.All I can say is thanks guys and/or gals for all of your hard work in producing this incredible cornmeal!I have now experienced cornbread nirvana and there is no going back!Still haven’t tried the blue but I have it and it’s going to have to happen soon. Will post a review for that also.

This and the Blue Hopi cornmeal is by far the best cornmeal any of us have tasted anywhere. It's great for frying and kind of gives a boost to the taste. We used to use Quaker, tried several organic cornmeals, and thought we had some good ones we liked. We tried this because I thought the different type would be interesting and the older strains are interesting, but I think we were all shocked at the taste difference in comparison. Going back to what we used to get now, especially the degerminated junk, would feel like a hardship or like it's missing something (it is!).If this review sounds a little bit too glowing, there's a reason for that. It's really good, and I'm picky....so to make me sit here and write this is saying something. But if it was as bad as it was good, I'd be ranting so it's not fair if I don't give them the kudo's they deserve.We ordered 1 lbs of Bloody Butcher Cornmeal and 5 Lbs of Blue Hopi. We liked it so much and went through it so fast that we doubled the last order. ...should give you an idea.

I have been making cornbread for more years than I care to admit. Obviously being a Southern girl, it's a staple bread for me! I have been searching forever for organic red corn meal and I finally found it. This is absolutely the BEST cornmeal I have ever purchased. The cornbread made with this is amazingly wonderful. I prepared Mexican cornbread too. What an awesome treat. My whole family loves it. I can't say enough good things about this cornmeal. The texture is perfect, taste is great, it is organic, open pollinated, on and on. Brian Severson, amazing job!

My wife and I really enjoy this red cornmeal in our cornbread recipes. It has a great texture, wonderful flavor, and just the right "crunchiness" for an organic cornmeal. Even though it's red when you buy it, it turns kind of blue when you bake it. The cornbread recipe on the back of the bag we received was outstanding, if a person enjoys sweet cornbread. Anyway, the cornmeal seems to be high quality, with a unique flavor, and just the right grind to it. After using this cornmeal, the usual commercial meals that we buy in the supermarket don't hold up. Highly recommended!

So happy to have found this cornmeal! It's safe to eat - organic and non-GMO, and it tastes delicious! I've made cornbread, and plan to try it in other recipes as well. I also like buying from an American family farm.

JUST WOW. I grew up on grits and cornmeal, and this Organic Bloody Butcher Red Cornmeal is the best I have ever had. (It’s pretty, too. When cooked it’s a very pale pink with teensy splashes of red.)I’ve tried every organic brand I could get my hands on, and some have been really good, but this beats them all, hands down. I love that it comes straight from the farm where the corn was grown, and although delivery was listed as 21 to 30 days, I got it in 10.I’ve also discovered I can get more size and variety options ordering from the farm directly, and I’m about place my order for their Organic Heirloom Popcorn and Blue Hopi Cornmeal. KUDOS!
