Japan Art Shikishi Board Set of two 9.5 x 10.75" Gold Bordered for Japanese Art or Calligraphy (Pack of 2)

I practice Shodo (Zen art of brush calligraphy) on unmounted paper and wanted to contribute a piece to a Zen Center art show. These boards are very nice - the thin "rice paper" that works with the brush and ink best is already mounted on rigid cardboard, with gold flecks in the paper and gold borders. I was able to easily produce a piece that is rigid and may be mounted for hanging. The subtle gold flecks are a nice touch.

Some Japanese frames I’ve come across have clips for easy changing of pictures. The pictures are usually mounted on shikishi board with gummed washi to hold in place. Easy if you have seasonal prints or just like variety. Some of my woodblock prints are approx. this size (9.5 X 10.75 inches, or chuban. Another useful size is 12 X 16.5, sometimes called “large oban”).

I am a comic artist and I've used a variety of papers in my work. This board has the worst paper quality. Terrible. I've had/used ones I bought from Kinokuniya. You better off buying your own paper and glueing it to a piece or board. Do not buy.

Exactly what I was looking for. Just a couple shikishi (Japanese autograph boards) I can use and mount on the wall, only I hoped they would be better condition. Maybe next time
