Still very Usefull
Even though this book is quite old, all of the ideas are very useful and, really, common sense. The book is about 100 pages, but only 1/2 are actual text, and, of those, only about 1/2 the pages are actually used. The rest of the book is used to show pictures of what the author is describing. If you read quickly, you should be able to blast through it in 30 minutes to an hour.If you design websites, it is well worth reading and keeping on your shelf.

It's the only book you need if you have a web site
Among all of the fancy techno literature on web sites, this book in its simplicity is brilliant and focuss on the only thing that really matters when it comes to web sites -- what do you want the visitor to do? Then deliver. Oh yes, and keep it simple. I am impartial to anything by Seth Godin. I think he is the marketing genius of our era. Somehow, I missed this book years ago but it is still relevant. The brilliance of Seth is his straight forward simplicity. Don't get impressed by techno-babble SEO stuff. Web site visitors are human beings and we behave in very predictable ways. We also make those decisions very quickly 5-7 seconds when it comes to staying or leaving a web site. Seth has it figured out and I highly recommend his brilliant book Survival is not engough!

Timeless "oldie"
Books on websites are usually old before they come out.Not this one.Seth has recorded the timeless thinking behind websites. The thinking that will never change and will help you create brilliant stuff. No other book does this, not this way, not this sharp, short and bold. It's a short book, but longer isn't needed. You get it at the first pages. The rest is to drill in into your system.Brilliant book. Brilliant author by the way (check out his video's that roam around on the web and you'll know this book is great).

How to Improve a Web Site by a Marketing Guru
The thing I loved about this book is that Seth Godin is not a Web developer. Each page of this book is an idea from a marketing genius how to develop a better Web site. I am sure if you are considering purchasing this book you have read similar books that were most likely written by Web professionals. If this is you, I definitely recommend this book so that you can see how to improve Web sites from a different perspective. If you enjoy working on Web sites you will find this book a lot of fun and will probably finish it in one sitting. I do not recommend this book if you are not interesting in developing or improving a Web site.

Great info, simple formatt
I enjoyed the points made in this book. They are basic and you'll find yourself saying "of course!" However, sometimes we need to see it in print to realize or remember.I would have loved to read more commentary on each topic. Why leave a page 2/3 blank? If you can't at least fill a page with content, maybe it isn't important enough to put the topic in the book.Overall, buy it (maybe used) and study these principals. They make sense and work. 4 of 5 stars.

The Big Red Fez is OK.
It's certainly not the best book I've ever read, but not the worst, either. He makes a lot of good points, most of which are pretty much common sense. I like that it's short and simple, though. Also, I wrote a full review of key points from the book on my Tumblr blog. You can read it here: [...].

Is your web site turning away customers? FInd out!
This is a book for business owners, decision makers, people who hire Web designers, Web designers and people who think they're Web designers. The Web is full of sites that are beautifully coded, full of glorious graphics, very flash-y, and are impossible to use. Find out if your Web site is scaring away customers, supporters, donors and others you want to attract. Seth Godin, former marketing director at Yahoo.com, tells you in plain English how to avoid the most common - and some not-so-common - Web design mistakes and build Web sites that work for you and your customers. Read this book today!

True to Seth's style
As Seth Godin says - there's probably more detailed and less simplistic books around which cover the topic of web design and development - and I have read them too. But this one captures the essence of the REAL needs of a web customer in a simple easy to digest format. I would recommend the book for anyone building the first (or even 10th) website. And perhaps I'd even give it to my customers who frequently ask us to build crazy ideas into their websites.Steve Mathew - Managing Director, Fireworkx.com (designer and developer of websites and web systems)

The seller delivered immediately
This book about web-design is twenty years old. Seth Godin has annoyed me jumping on the BLM marketing bandwagon (imagine being a capitalist but promoting a movement which seeks to destroy capitalism through racial division and animous!). But even so, it's a helpful book and was delivered immediately and very cheaply by London Bridge Books.

Average.
Not sure that this book conveys much that is useful to the uninitiated.
