This ruler is exceptional in all regards. The markings are accurate and easy to read, no issue with glare from the lights, and the ends checked perfectly square against my machinist square. As a woodworker I appreciate each of those qualities. The ruler came in a soft protective sleeve that can be used for storage. I recommend this ruler for anyone concerned with precision. I would say it's on par with the more expensive brands like Starett at a more affordable price. This is my second tool from Shinwa, both of which were made in Japan. I bought the Sliding T-Bevel Gauge last month and couldn't be happier with the quality of that tool. I might have to try one of their engineer squares next.

This are great , easy to read tules... sure there is another maker whose font I prefer.... but they cost twice as much... and function pretty much the same as Shinwa... I mean... and inch is still an inch. as long as it is accurate and easy to read

This scale appears to be well made, and the satin finish and etched numbers make it easy to read. However, I am used to scales that read left to right along the top edge. This scale reads left to right along the bottom edge, which took some getting used to for me.

Decent but the numbers are not scribed on they are just painted sure in a shop these wouldn’t last long I returned them for better ones and what’s funny the better ones were cheaper

I have the Shinhwa combination square and both tools work well. The lines are laser engraved and are easy to read. I purchased the ruler to use with my Veritas ruler stop which needs a thinner ruler (<0.5”).

This is an excellent quality rigid scale! The etching is very sharp and black. It shows up perfectly against the satin chrome background. Overall length checked within 0.002” of 12”. However, the width measured 1.120” which is fine, but the listing might have stated differently. Overall, this scale is perfect for precise machine shop work.
