I added this to our greenhouse kit at the start based on others' reviews. It opens when the temperature inside goes up and closes when the temperature goes down. It was simple to install and is adjustable. I did find a video online that further helped explain installation. I would definitely recommend.

They work well. They feel a little flimsy to me even with two springs but for the price my expectations were low. I made sure to oil each one with 3-in-1 multipurpose oil. Likely plug-n-play with the existing window opening space.

I installed these 3 days ago in an 8’ x 10’ hobby greenhouse. Our temperatures are in the 40s at night and 70-80 daytime. So far they have closed the roof windows by about 7 pm and they open as the greenhouse heats up in the morning. The installation instructions are hard to follow and I mostly ignored them. The first step was to attach 2 brackets. I couldn’t figure out what they were for, so I didn’t use them. They don’t seem to have been necessary for my application. The pin that holds the piston in place didn’t fit the holes it was supposed to go into. I ground it down rather than drill out the holes, but I suppose one could do either. The pin got in the way of the widow closing all the way, so I had to cut the top of it off. If you’re handy, you can probably install these. I gave the product a 5 rating despite the poorly written and illustrated instructions.

Use to work great, Worked great at the beginning. Worked great till it stripped out. This product is cheap. The piece that holds the tube in place. It is made out of aluminum and strips the treads out when the wind catches it and pulls it straight out. 15 lbs is not strong enough for the wind. I will not recommend this product to anyone. Now I have one vent window I cannot use because this broke.

These are easy to install (despite the instructions making it seem more complicated than it should be). I have a small, janky greenhouse/conservatory and yet the hinge bolt holes were nearly perfect for my installation. Once installed they have been a game changer for temperature regulation and I only wish I had done this sooner.

Works well on one. On the other the spring popped off and can’t get it back on. So I can’t use that one. But the quality on the one that works is great. Wish my other would work
