High quality product - excellent.
Bought this for a Sig 228. Fits like a glove. Comfortable. A bit stiff at first, but any good leather holster will be a bit snug at first. Very high quality. Excellent product. I've seen a lot of holsters over the years - this is very nice. The holster could be a bit shorter for a 228, but it's made for the 226 as well, so understandable. A qualified leather worker could probably shorten it a bit for you if you really need that. Definitely needs to be broken in, though. Would be hard to draw brand new out of the box. Snap fits around the standard 228 hammer perfectly and tight. If you have a different hammer, you might have a problem with this. Absolutely no extra room. It is a precision fit for the stock hammer. No movement of the gun in the holster at all. The carry positions are both good, though the gun is a bit larger than an ideal concealed carry. Not the holster's fault. They say NOT to use oil on the holster - pure silicone only. Hope this is helpful.

Very Good Holster for the Money!
I purchased the black G&G holster for my Sig P229 Enhanced Elite that has the beavertail frame.First of all, the holster is probably the most comfortable holster I have tried (and believe me I have tried many on this site). I knew finding a good holster to support the P229 which weighs in at 38 ounces (not the lightest of guns) with a full clip was going to be a challenge and I was beginning to doubt one existed, that is until I received this one.The belt loops for the holster hoist the pistol high enough that when wearing a loose fitting shirt (untucked), the bottom of the holster or the barrel end doesn't stick out the bottom like most of the others I have tried. This has also overcome the pulling down on the pants/jeans that also contribute to exposing the end of the holster/barrel. I makes the gun and holster fit comfortably tucked next to the waist/torso so that sitting doesn't present a problem. Some of the other holsters, when sitting, poked into the leg or side making it uncomfortable to sit.I can't speak on the longevity of the holster as I've only had it for three days, but it looks of sufficient quality that I don't think it will "fall apart" any time soon. The only downside to the holster that I have found so far is that with the holster (so far) is that it is very difficult to snap the thumb snap, especially while wearing the holster. I have to sometimes take the holster off to resnap it back in the holster because the male snap on the strap is offline from the female by about 1/8". This may be because of the beavertail appendage on the Enhanced Elite's frame that some other P229's do not have. Hopefully, the holster will "stretch out" a bit with wear and overcome this shortcoming as I really like this holster and intend to make this my primary carry holster. If all else fails, I can either go with the holster unsnapped or remove the strap all together.Overall, I think the holster is a good buy and like it a good deal.

Fits my DAK P229R
First the pros: The thumb break fits my P229R very snugly and securely. I have the DAK model with the bobbed hammer, but the thumb break on this holster still fit well. The belt openings allow for a forward cant or vertical position without any cant, so I was quickly able to find a comfortable position. The muzzle end of the holster is open to allow dirt and debris to pass through, which should help minimize holster wear on the pistol. I wore the holster with my pistol all day (15 hours) to start breaking it in. It was comfortable the whole day, and the thumb break stayed engaged. All in all I am very pleased with these positive aspects. Now for a few cons. The holster extends about one inch past the end of the muzzle, and the extra length seems a little unnecessary to me and might hinder concealment in some situations. On the other hand, it might help prevent scratches to the muzzle, so the extra length could be a plus in some situations. Customers looking for excellent "fit and finish" may be a little disappointed by the rough edge-work on the leather. In some places it is very scratchy but this may soften in time. I know other leather holster makers that produce polished holsters with every edge smoothed like glass (such as Galco) but this holster was about half the price as those other holsters. For the price I'm happy with the purchase.

The rig carries nicely and stays tucked up next to your body but ...
I can tell you this this G&G product is not just for a sig 229 it fits a shocking amount of other guns as well 1 it fits a stoeger cougar 8000 it will also fit a sig SP-2022 they aren't cheap but then you just spent a few hundred for a sidearm so what's another 50 or 60 bucks for a holster to put it in. The rig carries nicely and stays tucked up next to your body but I will advise you get a proper gun belt if you want to use anything other then a polymer framed gun ( of note this holster will fit anything that is asteticlly similar to a sig will work too I got a Chiappa MC-27 to work in it too which it what I bought it for originally) these are quality holsters

good value
I just received my gould and goodrich pancake holster today. I like how tight it was, how it needed to be broken in with a few draws before it got smooth. retention is excellent, pancake contours to my body well. I use it with an older model P229 with no rail and the fit is great. Highly recommend this product.

A little too snug
Just received my G&G holster for my Sig p229 legion, and boy it's tight. I can barely snap it with the hammer up, no way to snap with the hammer down. I'm hoping it will stretch, I will update in a few weeks

Sig P228
This is a very nice American made holster, it fit my Sig P228 (without equipment rail) perfectly, a very good price for a quality Hollister.
