I have been testing fire-starters on an invention of my own. I was searching for a fires-starter i want one that very simple and easy to light, no flavor transferable to the food, burned for a minimum of 15 minutes and has the ability to light higher moisture content wood. I tested well over 20 different fire starters. One and one alone met this criteria. Now starting my favorite high moisture wood for grilling is a snap. Put the lighter on the fire starter while it is surrounded by wood and you have an instant fire.

Bought a pack of these last year when we bought our Komodo Joe.Not a lot of experience, but I love these. Super-easy to light, get my briquettes and wood going in no time, and impart no flavors beyond the wood that we're using.Noticed I was nearly out with my last grilling, so ordered another package to be sure that we're not without.

My family loves fires but it's always such a hassle to get them started. My children have to go foraging for appropriately shaped sticks in the yard and we have to keep telling them they brought back the wrong shape to they'll be adequately distracted while my husband and I choose which of their baby photos we should use as kindling. These fire starters changed all of that. All we have to do is light the fire starter, put a couple of logs on top, and the fire practically starts itself. I have to thank Walden for allowing our family to look at our photo album together rather than having to choose which pictures to burn to stay warm. I highly recommend these fire starters.

This is my second review. We have a Blaze King and we were told buy the Company that put it in to never use newspaper to start a fire. Our screen on top of the chimney would get plugged up and this was because of the newspaper. All we need is one Firestarter. and it starts the whole loty of logs. You won't be disappointed. I will only use Walden Fire starters

These little things are incredible. I’ve always started my fires with crumpled newspaper but as a Girl Scout leader we’re not allowed to do that in case of flyaways (of course if you crumple correctly that won’t happen, but I digress). I’ve tried making my own fire starters and none have ever worked that well, so I went ahead and bought some to use for Girl Scouts and these little babies are amazing. Wind proof, last forever, burn forever. Practically idiot proof firestarting, and my second graders got to get some confidence with matches and fire without the disappointment or frustration of kindling that wouldn’t catch. Highly recommend!

These fire starters are as advertised. They certainly burn long and strong. I can see how they would quickly start a wood fire. My mistake was trying to use them to start anthracite coal which takes a very, very hot and long sustained fire to get it going. I would use them as suggested to start wood fires or to start charcoal, in these (as advertised) uses they are likely unbeatable. The only reason they didn't work for me was my fault for trying to use the wrong product for the wrong intention. Keep up the good work, I'll be using these all summer in my charcoal grill.

We purchased the Walden Fire Starters to use on vacation at our Lake House. We used the fire starters for the charcoal grill and a fire pit. The fire starters worded wonderfully for each use. We absolutely love them!! The coals in the grill started right up and we were delighted that we did not have to use lighter fluid. The fire starters have a delightful pine/woody odor that is quite pleasant. We would definitely buy the Walden All Natural Fire Starters again!!!

Light very easily and quickly and have around a 10 minute burn time. Have a very high flame as well. Will definitely be buying again!Only con, that most people probably won't worry about, I'm personally not a huge fan of plastic in general. These come in a large, heavy duty plastic bag. Does the job, but something compostable or recyclable would be nice. Just a thought!
